Treachery, Trouble and Turmoil in the Middle East

Rev 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

“Hardly a day goes by when our senses are not bludgeoned by some new outbreak of terrorism in the Middle East.  Despite our best efforts at making and keeping the peace, political, economic, and religious tensions often lead to unrest, violence, and riots.”

-Jim Bakker in “Prosperity and the Coming Apocalypse”

Betrayal and hatred for one another in the Middle East seems to be the order of the day!

The Pentagon in Washington seeks more funding to aide Israel with more Iron Dome anti-missile systems as the world steps closer to war. Jerusalem needs to double the number of Iron Domes now in use, before any further conflicts occur.

Treachery: Israel’s neighbor to the north, Syria has a death toll of 10,000 people and counting. The conflict and opposition to the dictatorship in Damascus has grown over this past year. Political pressure from the U.N. is increasing because of President Bashar Assad’s human rights violations.

If Assad does not step down soon, Syria will end up in a bloody civil war. Even if the president bows out, the void will probably be filled by the Muslim Brotherhood or a similar Islamic organization.

Turkey is closing their Syrian embassy because of the dangerous security situation, hoping that will send a strong message to Assad.

The turmoil is also spilling over into Lebanon. Egypt (to the south of Israel) is having a new constitution drawn up by the Muslim Brotherhood, who have already threatened to break their peace treaty with Israel.

Trouble: Anti-Semitism is on the rise around the world. Dozens of French Muslims have been training with the Taliban in northwest Pakistan and the Islamic population is growing ever larger in the U.K. It appears that what they cannot take over by force, they might win by majority vote.

Turmoil: Thousands of protesters marched in the Moroccan capital of Rabat on Monday, torching Israeli flags and protesting the presence of an Israeli diplomat, David Saranga. The official from Israel was in town to attend a meeting at the Moroccan parliament. As the demonstrators grew louder and more rambunctious, for Saranga’s own safety he was escorted out a side door, quickly placed in a car and taken to the airport under heavy security.

It is becoming clearer to some Israeli officials that preparations should be made to evacuate Jewish residents from some Arab nations to safety. Anti- Jewish sentiment is really on the rise in countries that had secular governments but now have been taken over by Islamic regimes.

Israel is indeed surrounded by its enemies.
