Luke 21:11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.
“I believe the earth itself is groaning (Rom. 8:19-22) in anticipation of the Lord’s return. Part of this groaning includes floods, volcanoes, tidal waves, hurricanes, and earthquakes.”
-Jim Bakker in “Prosperity and the Coming Apocalypse”
A rise in Earthquakes in California and Alaska continued into a second day.
Alaska had three earthquakes strike in just over a two hour period. A 2.7 magnitude quake struck south of Seward, Alaska at 10:18. At 11:43, a 4.9 quake struck southeast of Whittier, Alaska with a second 3.0 magnitude quake hitting in the same area about 50 minutes later.
None of the quakes resulted in property damage.
Two quakes rocked California with the more intense a 4.3 quake that struck near Ferndale, California.
The quakes near the United States are part of a worldwide breakout along the famous Pacific Ring of Fire. Quakes in the 4.0-4.8 magnitude range have struck in China, Indonesia, Chile and Fiji. A 5.6 struck off the coast of Mexico late Wednesday night.
