God Save Me!

You only have to look around you to see that things are coming apart in today’s world, quickly!  Every day we read and hear things that are pointing to dire days ahead.  Sometimes I don’t even recognize this country in which we live.  One news article I read today said that the ‘new’ American dream was renting a home.  Remember when the American dream was actually owning a home?

But that issue is minor compared to what’s happening in our world at large.  Governments are being overturned.  Israel is fighting for her life.  People are calling good things evil, and calling evil things good.  In the midst of all that, we are see another thing happening which, unfortunately, we sometimes become complacent about.   We’re seeing a rise in natural disasters, freaky weather, terrorist attacks – any of these things could put us in a life-threatening situation in a matter of minutes.

You may say, “well Jim, hasn’t it always been that way?”  The answer of course, is “yes.”  But keep in mind that these things are increasing in frequency and intensity, just like the Bible says in Matthew 24.  When you see the increase… that’s the time to act.  When you see the ‘birth pains’ getting closer and closer, you can be sure that the baby is coming.  You better get to the hospital!
Keep in mind that the people who were watching Noah build the Ark were scoffers.  Why did they scoff?  Why didn’t they act on the warning?  They were busy with life as usual… building, marrying, partying.  It’s a sad thing when people hear the warning sound, but decide to ignore it.  It’s sadder still, when Christians disregard the Bible’s warnings.

Yet, these same people will be calling out to God for help when Times of Trouble come.  Bill Whaley, a recent show guest that specializes in self-sufficiency and survival techniques using everyday ‘junk’ , said that the people who snub survival warnings are the same people who scream “God save me!” when things come apart.

Perhaps He will.

But God sent His Word ahead of these things so that those who are wise will prepare.  I’m not the only one crying out with the warning.  Many others are warning people as well.  Even secular sources are warning people – so much so that the suppliers of emergency food and survival equipment can’t even begin to keep up with the demand.

Will you be one who prepares ahead of time when you see disaster coming?  Or will you be the one praying “God save me!”  If you’re prepared, you can help others.  If you’re not prepared, you’re the one needing help.  Don’t be a victim.

Love,

  1. I speak in tongues and its a wonderful thing. I usually only speak it in my personal prayer time with the Lord and it edifies me and builds me up. Now I’m an old school Pentecostal, and in our church services there will usually be a moment of silence after singing hymns and usually the Holy Spirit will move on a person and they will speak a message in tongues and then immediately after them, a person with the gift of interpretation will interpret the message for the edification of the whole church that’s the correct way it is done. Remember God is not the author of confusion, but of peace so usually the messages will be given in order one after the other never chaoticly or disorderly. I have found that since I was “filled with the Holy Spirit”…(not to be confused with the intial dwelling of the Holy Spirit when one gets saved)…that the Holy Spirit gives me power to preach the Gospel and given me a yearning/burning desire to live a holy life for the our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and proclaim His message to all people. Remember grace and holiness go together to have a balanced sense of God. Most Christians these days live in one end or the other I have found. They either say once saved always saved with a license to sin or they take holiness to far and become legalistic and base they’re salvation on works or trying to be good by on their own merit…both are utterly destructive. If you are having problems with this (as I had in the past) go directly to God in prayer and ask Him to help you and guide you into all truth through His Word. Amen

    Dear Sir,

Thank you for your above message.
‘Be prepared’ is a good saying, and the passage of scripture which quickly springs to my mind is the five wise and the five foolish virgins, who ran out of fuel before the lord came, and were to late to be let into heaven.
Your message title, God save me! I’m sure he will, only with the help of Jesus though. People though are so fickle and like the parable of the sower, their roots grow in the shallow soil which quickly dry up in hard times where the devil takes what little they have stored in their soul. For example, there can be a sudden clap of thunder, and I’m sure someone startled would say ‘God almighty’ or ‘Jesus Christ’ as an exclamation of appeal for help and comfort at that frightful time, and yet after about half an hour has elapsed I’m sure that god and Jesus couldn’t be further from their minds as they carry on living life. The devil tempted the person away from Jesus, stole the truth from their souls in that rocky, poor soil’s condition.
How beautiful it is when the true believer in Jesus quietly and confidently says, “God save me!” and we get scripture recalled to us from verses like 2 Timothy chapter one verse nine which reads:-

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began…KJV

To be saved Jesus says sell all and follow him, the parable of the rich young man, so difficult to do and yet another parable paraphrasing … have mercy on me a sinner!

Thanks again for your good message and inspiration.

    God bless,

  3. Pastor Jim, I believe, as you do, there is a catastophic downfall regarding faith, committment, and confidence in God. The intermixing of the Kingdom of God and worldly systems is evident when observing the church as a “whole”. As you and I both know the currency for the Kingdom is faith.

The Apostle Paul wonderfully draws the line concerning the differences between the flesh us and the spiritual us. The Bible does say we are created in God’s image, but we have to remember God is spirit. His word is Spirit and truth.

I was appalled to read in Revelation News a high school choir in Colorado is going to sing about “Allah” but we cannot sing about Jesus or have prayer in the very same school. I admire the student who quit the choir for their Christian beliefs.

Not only should it be “God Save Me” but let us add our families, community, schools, places of employment, and the nations. For what is flesh is flesh, and what is Spirit is Spirit. To many it may seem the “flesh” is winning in the majority of the different spheres of life right now. My Bible says we are the winners through Jesus Christ our Lord and victory is assured.

What is most important right now is there still time for ministry to all peoples globally, especially right here in our own communities. God has called us to serve. Not to sit and wait. May we all join God in His work and what he is doing around us. All we have to do is open our spiritual eyes and ears plus be willing.

Keep up the great preaching and programs. My prayers have you and the Morningside Ministry in them. God Bless! Mike

  4. Pray 3 Simple Words
    Jesus Save Me
    Save is an action verb
    To think something
    To say something
    To do something
    That SAVES people
Save them from crime and war
Thank God for law, order and peace
Save them from disease and sickness
Thank God for health and long life
    Save them accidents and injuries
Thank God for safety and security
    Save them poverty and starvation
    Thank God for prosperity
    Say it
    Jesus Save Me

  5. I loved the live taping with the junk man. Already working on getting my solar oven from an old dish satelite. Jim your sincerity really touches my heart as well as your humility. In the past week I have been approached by 3 people wanting to know about preparing, about silver sol, seychelle, food, canning, dehydrating. I am concerned about those that aren’t preparing, the give me generation. When some storm happens or the dam breaks and the water flows, these same people will be knocking on the doors of people who have prepared. When Israel defends herself against Iran the birthpains come faster. I am concerned about an attack in America. Far worse than 911. If there were several major things happening at once without time to recover from one, Oil prices rapidly rising from the strait of Hormuz being shut off. A sleeper cell taking out 3 or 4 buildings in a major city, panic in the stock markets, a collapse of the economy. What will Americans do. Not to mention natural disasters. Will they cry God where are you, why don’t you help me. Will he answer, you took away prayer, the cross, you found my 10 Commandments offensive. I am where I always was, I am unmoveable, you pushed me away. Many will not understand but the wise will understand.
