England is facing a double whammy of flooding and heavy snowfall that is disrupting travel and electrical services.

BBC forecasters say that up to 16 inches of snow could fall across the country along with gale force winds. The heavy snow could continue through the entire weekend complicating rescue efforts in flooded parts of the nation. (more…)

UK Finds New SARS-Like Virus Can Spread Between Humans

The new coronavirus found in the Middle East that is very similar to the SARS virus that killed 800 people in 2002 has been found to be spread from human to human.

Health officials in the UK made the announcement after a third British citizen was confirmed to be infected with the virus. The scientists say the infected man contracted the disease from a relative. (more…)

Human Trafficking Ring Busted In Europe

Authorities in England, France and Belgium have broken up a major human trafficking ring that preyed on immigrants from the Middle East and Afghanistan.

The UK Border Agency raided 35 locations yesterday while France and Belgium carried out 40 raids. The raids were spread out over the entire countries instead of focusing on only one major city. (more…)

British Woman Jailed For Committing Full-Term Abortion

A British woman who induced an early birth of her full-term baby and then claimed the baby was stillborn has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

Sarah Louise Catt, 35, buried the body of the child and has refused to tell authorities of the baby’s location. (more…)

Human Traffickers Convicted In England

August 8, 2012

Two brothers in Telford, England have been convicted of multiple charges related to trafficking of young girls. Ahdel and Mubarek Ali were convicted of 25 of 26 charges including controlling child prostitution and trafficking girls.

The crimes happened from March 2008 to December 2009. Four teenagers from Telford were kept by the brothers and forced to work as prostitutes or be abused by friends of the brothers. One teenager was sold by Mubarek Ali when she was four months pregnant. (more…)

Human Trafficker Gets Additional 22 Year Prison Term

Shabir Ahmed, one of nine men charged with human trafficking and slavery of children in Liverpool, England, has been given an additional 22 year prison term after being convicted of additional charges.

Ahmed had previously been sentenced to 19 years on charges kept under seal due to continuing investigations. The sentences will run concurrently. (more…)
