Al-Qaeda Related Terrorists Take Over Syrian Oil Fields

Al-Qaeda now has control of oil wells in Syria.

The violent anti-Western Jabhat al-Nusra, the al-Qaeda branch which is the strongest in the Syrian resistance, took over wells around the city of Raqqa and in the desert region in the Eastern part of the country. They control up to 380,000 barrels of crude oil. (more…)

Four Men Sentenced In Minnesota For Supporting Terrorists

Four Minnesota men have been sentenced to prison for their role in supporting the al-Shabab terrorist group in Somalia.

Abdifatah Isse, Salah Ahmed and Ahmed Mahamud were sentenced to three years in prison for providing material support to terrorists. Omer Mohamed received a 12-year sentence for conspiracy to provide material support. (more…)

Nigeria Declares State of Emergency Due To Islamist Attacks

The president of Nigeria has declared a state of emergency in three of the country’s states after assaults from Islamic terrorists.

President Goodluck Jonathan has ordered the military to be sent to Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states to take “all necessary action” to eliminate the terrorist threat in the region. (more…)

Saudi Man Arrested At Detroit Airport With Pressure Cooker

A Saudi Arabian man was arrested at Detroit Metropolitan Airport with an altered passport and a pressure cooker.

The man lied during questioning by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agent about the pressure cooker he was carrying into the country. A pressure cooker was a key component in the Boston Marathon bombings. (more…)

Tunisian Man Arrested In Connection To Canadian Terror Plot

A Tunisian national who met with one of the men arrested for plotting to bomb a Canadian train has been arrested in New York on visa fraud charges.

Ahmed Abassi is believed to have helped radicalize Chiheb Esseghaier, one of two men charged in Canada with conspiracy to carry out an attack and kill people.  The indictment against Abassi alleges that he then came from Canada to obtain a U.S. work visa to “facilitate an act of international terrorism.” (more…)

A magazine called “Al Qaeda Airlines” has surfaced on the internet and is filled with how-to guides on conducting terrorist attacks like the Boston Marathon bombing.

The 676-page “magazine” aims to encourage “lone wolf” terrorist attacks like the Boston bombing.  Various stories tell the reader how to create homemade weapons of mass casualties like pressure-cooker bombs. (more…)
