God lives in praise
50th year of ministry
Heiligen Geist, Thou Art Welcome
Pastor Jim’s Symphony
Philip Cameron discussed his ministry to orphaned girls in the county of Moldova. Thus far two houses have been started to support the orphaned girls. Love gifts in this program help to build Stella’s House and Lori’s House.
Pastor Jim discussed the emotion and connections of children and families and how picking and choosing select ones can have an impact on others in a negative way, as with children being selected for special privileges such as a home or family. He also stated the futility and baseless inheritance of a dog that received $300 million upon the owner’s death. Many more orphans could have benefitted from that money. A final comment by Pastor Jim about caring for the needy was that true religion (pure and without fault) is found by taking care of widows and orphans and if we care as instructed, God will nurse us back to health.
Pastor Jim noted that a donation of $100,000 to Mr. Cameron about a month prior to the taping of this show was made without full funding available. He had given that check in faith and within minutes of Philip Cameron’s departure that day, a check came in the mail to cover it. Nicht nur, dass, but within a few weeks, the last eight years worth of bills for the show had been paid. This is the first time in his 50 years that he has seen a God offering like this. Grandma Char came on stage and indicated her nervousness as a “numbers person”, but could count the financial returns to the show after the first faith gift as nothing short of miraculous in terms of completion and how many bills were taken care of.
The achievement of 50 years of ministry was tied and credited to the themes of God inhabiting praise and dedication to harmony and teamwork. Pastor Jim noted that a celebration of the 50 years of service was held at his house the night before the show. In honor of the event, a cake was made and shaped in the form of an old fashioned television-broadcasting camera. The cake was made as a type of camera that was used when he was broadcasting in the 1960s and brought color television to Christian broadcasting. The team of directors, stage hands, and camera operators made such a significant contribution possible.
As a demonstration of the impact of harmony, Pastor Jim selected various keys from the piano and asked Paul Todd to work them in to a song. Paul composed a song from the note selection, using his synthesizers spread across seven keyboards and a series of foot pedals, which was very classical in nature and received the title, “The Pastor Jim Bakker Symphony”. This became the highlight of the show and was only further augmented when Paul Todd asked Pastor Jim to play a note as a second movement of the piece was played. The show spent the last portion with Pastor Jim reveling in the music selection asked of Paul. Pastor Jim had asked Paul to play his favorite piece of music for the audience. A stirring piece of music had all eyes either affixed to Paul or closed in silent admiration and consideration and leading back to Pastor Jim’s notation that God inhabits praise. Pastor Jim was very happy to note that Paul would regularly be in the area as part of a music ministry at Tri-Lakes Church in Branson, Missouri.
