All Glory To God!! (Pt. 2)

Carol Gonterman

Now, remember the question I asked the Lord at the beginning? “Lord, how do you get glory from a woman who killed her two unborn children?” Well, we’re getting closer to the answer, so let’s continue —

A very special man named Gary came into my life! If you could look back to the beginning of our friendship, you would not have believed that our meeting was part of God’s plan.

Initially we were unequally yoked and I really didn’t want to have anything to do with him. I was convinced that Gary was not to be in my life and it wasn’t until God kept dealing with my heart to give him a chance.

I actually had to hear from the Lord several times about Gary since I didn’t want to get into another bad relationship and have it end with heartache. Since my conversion experience I was on fire for God although I still had a lot of bad habits to overcome. No way was I going to have a man get me off track and go back to my old ways!

BUT GOD had a marvelous surprise for me. My children and I really enjoyed Gary and soon we all loved him. He was so funny and very kind and great with the kids.

Eventually Gary got saved, healed, baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost! We got married, the kids were saved and life became wonderful. We bought our first home and opened a construction company. God was blessing us all so much.

But, at the same time, there was still something tugging on my heart. I knew that Jesus had forgiven me for the two abortions that I had, but I just couldn’t get loosed from it. I found myself in my prayer closet asking the same unanswered question again— “My God! How can you turn my sin of killing my babies for your glory? Show me please!”

Three years later we moved to Michigan to be part of a fellowship there. While living there I met a lady who asked me to go golfing. I didn’t golf, but she did a little bit. Her golfing friend wanted to meet me so I went.

This friend was the Director of the Pregnancy Center in East Lansing, Michigan. I shared my testimony with her, and she invited me to come and visit. After visiting the Pregnancy Center I started volunteering three days a week. I learned a lot and received deliverance at the same time.

The Lord said if I would give Him three days—He would replace my old job with a new one making more money in one day than I made in five days of babysitting! I said “Yes” and He set me up!

I was loving life, my first granddaughter was born and I was working at the Pregnancy Center.

Then Gary came home from work one day. He said that Holy Spirit told him that God had a work for us to do in Florida! Well, that wasn’t my plan so I blew it off and I sarcastically told him, “Have fun!”

BUT GOD!!

The Lord spoke to my heart and after some serious time in prayer, I knew we were going to be in Florida. Gary and I knew that we had divine appointments in Deland, Florida, but where?

We thought it would be at a pregnancy center, but soon we discovered that there wasn’t one! So, after numerous appointments with many pastors, we finally connected with a pastor whose church had been praying about opening a Pregnancy Center in Deland. Imagine that!

Well, this church had met with others in the area and we all gathered to organize the opening of this Center. The Board first had to agree on who would be the Director and then proceed from there. A nurse who had excellent credentials had applied. She was brilliant. And then there was me. My only experience was the three months of volunteer work I had done at the other Center in Michigan.

Well, I filled out the forms and Gary and I answered the questions. I was so unqualified, BUT GOD!

The Lord asked me the question, “Do you want to do this?” When God asked me that question I was shaking in my shoes. I knew it was a huge responsibility! I said “Yes” and the peace of God flooded me.

The Board picked me! I asked one of the Board members why they had chosen me instead of the qualified nurse. He said, “We wanted someone who relied on Holy Spirit all the way. God has all the answers and we wanted someone who was hooked up to the source.”

“Well, Glory to God!” I replied. The Board member’s response also was “Glory to God!”

We opened the Center and daily we gave God the glory for the miracles and salvations. We praised God for all the women who were set free and for the precious babies who were saved from abortion.

So, if you want to know how God can get glory from your past sins and lifestyle—Ask Him!

Romans 8:28 KJV “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

The key is OBEDIENCE! God will turn your ashes into beauty, give you a new beginning and take you to places in life that you would never have imagined.

Isaiah 61:3 KJV “To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.”

Why does God do this for us? Because He is an amazing God and can bring good out of your past. He makes all things new! It is all for His glory!

I have found peace with my past in knowing that I will be reunited with my babies I never knew. My children are with the Lord in Heaven.

ALL GLORY TO GOD! He is so good!

Join me in worshipping our Great God – He deserves all the glory!

  1. I watch the Jim Bakker show EVERY day. I would like to know if Lori would teach others to do the funeral of aborted babies. That frees them from the guilt of Abortion? Everyone can’t come there to be a part of that healing service.
    Thank you so much,
    Loretta
