To Be Like-Minded

Not too long ago my husband and I went home to Michigan for our nephew’s wedding. We also spent time with family members on all sides. Two years ago we moved from Michigan to Blue Eye, Missouri. It was a calling of the Lord to leave all and go and learn to be a servant of the Lord.

A short time after we returned home from the wedding, I realized one day how much I had missed sharing with those of Like-mindedness while I was away on my trip.

I work in the prayer room and one day I shared with my boss how much I had missed sharing with those who share spiritual oneness. While on my trip it became more apparent to me how blessed I am to live and work with Like-minded brothers and sisters in Christ.

My nephew’s wedding was oh so beautiful, but the spiritual aspect was totally missing. The majority of guests attending had no clue about marriage being a covenant with God, to walk in the spirit as He is and become Like-minded as He is. The absence of the spiritual emphasis in the ceremony again reminded me how much I missed Like-minded fellowship in the spirit.

So many scriptures came to mind:

1 John 1:7 – “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” KJV

Matthew 18:20 – “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Hebrews 10:25 – “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

What really affected me was the realization of just how narrow the road to Heaven is. Without God in our daily lives we have missed it. It is one thing to know of God, it is another thing to know Him. Big difference! How does one come to know Him and not just know of Him?

God is spirit and you can only worship Him in spirit and truth.

John 4:24 – “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

How does one then know that they are of spirit? By surrendering your life to Him through Jesus Christ who paid it all at the cross. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. When you confess your sins to Him and BELIEVE He was crucified, died, buried and rose again, you then “by faith” receive His spirit unto you.

Now you can know the things of God by reading the Word and finding a good Bible-believing church. You will learn about God’s principles of giving by tithing and giving offerings to the church and others. Your desire will increase to find good fellowship with those of Like-mindedness.

God is a giver. He gave His only Son to save you and me from our sins so we could have eternal life with Him forever. After receiving Christ, soon your old ways fall away and you become Like-minded in God and those of like faith. It’s not hard. It is just believing that God’s Word is true and then walking it out each day.

God opened my eyes to see the world as He created it to be. What a joy and blessing. There is a real enemy (satan) out there who would love nothing more than to steal your joy. Don’t let him. Remember, you are now washed in the blood of Jesus Christ, born again, filled with His Spirit and free indeed!

1 John 4:4 – “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

Welcome, you are now in the family of God. Enjoy the Lord and connect with your brothers and sisters in Christ. You will find soon and very soon how Like-minded you are with God and others. There is no other way but God’s way.

Here, there, or in the air, I will meet you someday.

God bless and be a blessing.
