You Can Trust God’s Word

Clete Snellenberger

I am so thankful for God’s Word and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 3:13 says, “Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and he that gains understanding.”

Proverbs 3:16 says, “Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand are riches and honor.”

All truth comes from Godly wisdom.  In John 14:17, the Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of Truth.  In verse 26 it says:  “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”

This scripture became rhema (life-giving, God-breathed, personally applicable) to me when my wife and I were in Bible school.  I had sat under the tutelage of anointed Bible teachers and consumed months of revelation knowledge.   I felt like my brain was going to explode with so much Godly wisdom.  I was definitely on overload.  I was at the point of not being able to absorb anything else, let alone remember what I was learning!  I asked the Lord to help me retain all these wonderful nuggets of truth.

God was faithful and the Holy Spirit came to my aid.  Since that experience I have learned to trust God’s Word and rely on the Holy Spirit as my helper.

I want to share eight reasons why you can trust God’s Word and the Holy Spirit.  He made you!  You were knit together.  Psalm 139.

  1. He will never leave you. Hebrews 13:5
  2. He has seen your future and it is for good, not evil. You can trust God with your future.
  3. He knows how to comfort you the best when things become difficult.
  4. The Holy Spirit is the only one who can protect the seeds of kindness you have shown.
  5. The Holy Spirit is the greatest encourager in life. Psalm 46:1.
  6. Holy Spirit loves to communicate with you and to you!
  7. He knows how to protect you. Psalm 91:1. (I suggest you read often.)

Ephesians 1:4-5—“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will…”  KJV

Understanding God’s Word, being taught and helped by the Holy Spirit, is the greatest fulfillment in this life.  Jesus said, “All things are possible to those who believe.”

One man said: “Be selective in what you believe to be effective in what you receive.”

Trusting in God’s Word always brings faith into action and faith in God gets results. You can trust in God and His Word because God is truth and His Word is true.
