As bombs and rockets explode over Damascus, fears and concerns increase over potential dangers of the five manufacturing plants of Chemical weapons as well as 20 different storage sites for chemical and biological weapons.

Intelligence agencies believe that Syria has one of the largest biological weapons stockpiles in the world. After the United States revealed that Assad’s regime had begun moving the chemical weapons stockpiles, worries have increased over the fate of such dangerous weapons in such a hostile environment. El U.S. State Department has sent a diplomatic representative to Iraq, Jordania, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia warning about the dangers of Syria’s WMDs crossing over into bordering countries and to be on guard. El U.S. government has offered to help them deal with this ever present danger. Information that has come to the forefront that Syria is thought to have a large stash of mustard gas, nerve agents, sarin gas and biological weapons. (más…)

Yemen: Barack Obama warned that al-Qaeda planning ricin attack

Counter-terrorism officials are said to have warned President Barack Obama that an al-Qaeda affiliate in Yemen is trying to produce the deadly nerve agent ricin for use in bomb attacks on the US.

The New York Times, citing classified intelligence documents and unnamed officials, reports that terrorist operatives have been making efforts to buy large quantities of castor beans – which contain the toxic ricin protein – and shift them to a remote tribal area controlled by insurgents for processing.
