Todo esto no es sino el principio de dolores, el tiempo de angustia.

Thirty-eight Christians were killed on Easter Sunday. Two vehicles packed with explosives were detonated outside a church in Nigeria. There is a continuing fear of more attacks from those who hate Christians in Africa. The explosion reminded many of the attacks against Christians on Christmas Day, that left dozens of people dead.

South Sudan has a new way to get rid of Christians. The government gave Christians an ultimatum, become a “new citizen” or be deported. Many of these Christians have lived in Sudan for years and some were even born there. As of April 8, they are now considered “foreigners,” and are being referred to as “cancer cells in the body of Sudan, the land of Arab and Islam.”

Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir pledged to base the “New Sudan” more deeply on sharia (la estricta ley islámica).

As of April 8, Sudanese Armed Forces have destroyed 10 churches, 73 villages and 48 las escuelas, resulting in an estimated 185,000 refugees.

The UN estimates the conflict has created nearly 400,000 refugees, and most of them are in danger of starvation.

Iran threatened Emanuel Protestant Church and the Armenian Anglican Church with bombing if they do not stop holding services in Farsi (the national language of Iran) on Fridays, which falls on the weekend in Iran where Sunday is just another work day.

“It now seems likely that the Islamic authorities have imagined that with this new restriction they will somehow hold back the rapid, and evidently extremely worrisome, spread of Christianity amongst the people under their yoke,” according to a report by the Farsi Christian News Network.

Christians are also being arrested in a nation-wide crackdown on charges of “crimes against the order.” The numbers of Muslims converting to Christianity is growing in Iran, in spite of it being a predominantly Islamic state. There is Christian revival among the young people in Iran. Home churches and small cell groups meet in secret. There were about 200 Muslim background believers in Iran 40 Hace años. That number is now estimated to be 370,000. The traditional Armenian and Assyrian church in Iran also has an additional 80,000 miembros. These numbers create a big threat to the Islamic clergy.
