UN Chief Asks World To Stop “Slaughter” In Syria

Matthew 24:6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

Ban Ki-moon, UN Secretary-General, is calling for the world to take action to stop the “slaughter” in Syria caused by the country’s civil war.

The plea from the UN head came as reports came from Damascus of 23 people killed in a massacre in the Qaboun neighborhood. The reports from Damascus were released after the government positioned forces around the city of Aleppo.

Activists released a video showing streets ravaged by fire and shelling along with a large number of corpses.

Amnesty International is speaking out in concern for what they term “summary executions” by both government and rebel forces. The group labeled them “serious violations of international law.”

The BBC is reporting that the government is prepared to increase the battle in Aleppo based on their belief that losing the city will be the final piece in the fall of President al-Assad’s government.
