“Within the past century man has proven his inhumanity by his willingness to destroy his fellow man.”

Seven people were killed and thirteen injured when a homicide bomber attacked a governor’s compound in western Afghanistan.

The attack in Farah province also resulted in the deaths of four of the attackers. The first blew himself up at the gate and others tried to fight their way through the gate into the compound.

The battle lasted nearly an hour.

Mohammad Yunos Rasuli, Farah Deputy Governor, told the BBC the attackers were dressed as police and that he killed two of the attackers before being wounded himself.

Rasuli said that the attackers didn’t target only the government officials but everyone including an “office caretaker, a cleaner and others.”

Mois dernier, two Taliban fighters attempted a similar style attack in Kandahar which led to gun battle lasting over half an hour.
