Cyprus Bailout Approved By Eurozone Ministers

Revelation 6:5,6 NCV When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse, and its rider held a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard something that sounded like a voice coming from the middle of the four living creatures. The voice said, "A quart of wheat for a day's pay, and three quarts of barley for a day's pay, and do not damage the olive oil and wine!"

A bailout for Cyprus has been reached that will put 10 billion euro into their economy.

As part of the deal, the nation’s second largest bank will be closed down and anyone holding more than 100,000 euros in the bank will face losses of anything over 100,000.

The European Central Bank had previously set a Monday deadline for the deal.

The previously discussed splitting of Laiki Bank will proceed with the “good” bank having its assets merged into Bank of Cyprus. The “bad” bank will fold.

The news of the deal caused angry responses from Russia as many account holders with more than 100,000 euro in Laiki Bank are Russian nationals.

Banks are still closed throughout the country and many businesses are now only taking cash payments for products. The re-opening of the banks is a subject of discussion between the Cyprus government and those providing the bailout.
