Activating God’s Power in Your Life (Part 2)

Terry Lynn Stubblefield

In Part 1 you learned that in order to change your situation, you will need to start doing things differently. Change is up to you, you have to decide to change. The second step is to stop making excuses. And third, you must be willing to change NOW!

The foundation for your success is not going to be based on good ideas; it will be based on how much time you spend seeking God’s voice. It’s time to tune out all the voices around you and get in a quiet place so you can hear the voice of God.

John 10:27—“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:”

Now is the time to hear God’s voice. Change the channel that you’ve been listening to. Influential voices are behind a large majority of what is broadcast through the media. These voices echo fear, failure and hopelessness. Those voices are not from God, but rather their purpose is to distract your focus and influence you negatively.

Ask yourself, “How much time do I spend in God’s presence compared with the time spent listening to the news, talking with friends and searching online?”

The voice of God’s Word (the Bible) says God’s mercies are new every morning. (Lamentations 3:23) That means He has a fresh Word for you today! Be careful you don’t replace hearing from God with your own plans and ideas. Don’t get me wrong, having a business plan is great, but knowing what God is saying is greater. People have lost a lot of money and wasted much time on good ideas. These ideas appeared to be well-planned, tested and seemingly good at the time. However, God knows best and you will never lose with a God idea.

Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

It’s not enough just to hear the Word of God—it has to be understood and applied. You’re going to have to hear the Word from God for you. That’s when breakthrough occurs. When you meditate on God’s Word you will begin hearing His word for you!

The Holy Spirit will lead you in the way you should go. You and I can read the same scripture, but what you or I hear and understand may be different for each of us. God will clarify the meaning of the scripture for you personally and how it applies to your life. He is the voice behind the Word. When you confess the word He gives you, you activate the voice of faith.

How thirsty are you for change? In Psalm 42:1 David expresses how his soul panted for God as a deer pants for water. To pant is to “yearn and crave for God’s power.” How thirsty are you for God’s Word? We are promised that if we seek God with our whole heart that we will find Him! In Matt 6:33 we are instructed to “…seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness…”

Change your posture and position today by activating the voice of faith in your life. Tune out the voices around you, and tune in to God’s voice daily. Your breakthrough is closer than you think!

  1. what an awesome article and uplifting . i needed this. i am in need of healing in my body and in my finances. i listen to the broadcast everyday and i am always blessed by it. please pray for me. thank you!

  2. Watch your show every day. Would love to get all your supplies but do not have the money. May I ask for prayer that God would supply me with some extra money to help your ministry and get the things I need and most of all would love to help others in need. I am alone and a purpose in life, would love to have a christian mate but the best I have to offer is my prayers.
    Thank you
