Mohammed Morsi Standing Trial On Inciting Violence

Luke 21:9-10: [Jesus said] "When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away." Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom."

Egypt’s state news agency is reporting that former President Mohammed Morsi has been referred to a Cairo criminal court for charges of committing and inciting deadly violence.

Morsi, along with 14 other members of the Muslim Brotherhood, are accused of inciting violence outside the presidential palace in December 2012.

Morsi, Egypt’s first democratically elected President, was removed from office by military forces in July. He has been held in secret locations since his removal. He is also accused of working with the terrorist group Hamas during his escape from prison in 2011 during the uprising against Hosni Mubarak.

Meanwhile, a group of Egyptian judges have ruled that the Muslim Brotherhood should be dissolved and the group’s offices in Cairo closed because the group operates “outside the law.” They also said the actions taken by Brotherhood associates, which include multiple attacks on Christians, are “terrorist actions.”
