The Washington Times reported that an Israeli pre-emptive strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities would only slow down their development progress.
Neither the United States or Israel can put an end to Iran’s nuclear aspirations. You can destroy the physical building and underground bunkers, but you can not “uninvent” the technology.
The locations of Iran’s scattered nuclear installations are uncertain and are heavily guarded. A successful raid would be doubtful and very complicated.
Sig.. Natan Sachs, an expert on Israeli national security matters stated an Israeli attack on Iran would require more than 100 fighter jets carrying heavy bombs and refueling over hostile territory, because a single bunker-busting bomb would not be enough to penetrate and destroy underground facilities. “It is not a one-shot thing,"Ha detto.
A former instructor for the Israeli Defense Forces mentioned that a combat mission would only extend Iran’s nuke program by two to five years, meanwhile giving the international sanctions against the Islamic republic an opportunity to work. Israel of course can continue to operate raids on Iran every four years to further delay their nuclear efforts.
Iran, playing for time, continues to say their nuclear program will be used for peaceful purposes.
As the Israeli PM is meeting in D.C. One of the topics of conversation will no doubt be the pre-emptive attack on Iran’s nuke facilities . We can only guess the other topics of conversation, But maybe the time for talking has come to an end.
