Dozens Killed In Beijing Flooding

Editor’s Note:  Prophet Rick Joyner warns that when you see strange and extreme weather (record breaking highs, lows, floods, droughts, tornadoes, storms), it is a prophetic sign that the Revelation Days are upon us.

“Catastrophic calamities are coming upon the earth, not one of these days in the distant future, but soon—now! Torrential rains, unsettling weather patterns, violent storms, floods, famines, droughts, earthquakes increasing in frequency and intensity, volcanic eruptions, and a host of other signs of the times Jesus told us to watch for are happening now.”

-Jim Bakker in “Prosperity and the Coming Apocalypse”

The heaviest rain to hit Beijing in 60 years has reporters and citizens questioning why better warnings were not given to residents. Reports say 37 people died in flash flooding that ravaged the city with seven more missing in the damage.

The storm struck Saturday night, shutting down airports and transportation systems. The airport was shut down through Monday and reports state most of the transportation systems are back to normal on Monday.

The hilliest areas at the edge of the city were the hardest hit by the storm.

Flood losses are being estimated at $1.5 billion dollars. State news agencies reported over 18 inches of rain in the Fangshan district.

In a rare admission, the state run newspaper was critical of officials.

“Chinese cities are apparently unpracticed in facing disasters such as Saturday’s torrential downpour,” the paper printed.

Beijing hosted the 2008 Olympics and most of the storm systems were put in place for the event.
