Luke 17:28-30 “Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built” but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
Congressman Trey Gowdy, who is heading the House of Representatives’ select committee for the Benghazi terror attack, told a group of believers at Second Baptist Church Houston that they need to stop waiting for a political messiah and place their hope in the true messiah.
“If you want to change culture, don’t wait on the Supreme Court or anyone else,” said the South Carolina congressman. “The real hope in Christ is expressed through the lives of His followers. Changing the hearts and minds in this country is our job.”
Gowdy said that Christians must to step up and speak the truth in a way that is respectful to other people but unwavering in presenting the Gospel truth.
“You don’t insult people into changing their minds,” said Gowdy.
Gowdy said that it’s important for people to hold their elected officials accountable for more than just the votes they cast or actions they take in their office. He said leaders need to be held accountable for their actions in their private lives because everything we do is a reflection on the Lord and how He is working in our lives.
Gowdy said that Christians need to educate themselves because the answers to all things are in Scripture.
“Are you educated in the teachings of Christ?” Gowdy said. “The answers to all our political questions are in the Bible… But what good does that do unless you know the Bible?”
We the People are The United States. If We the People elect people who are corrupt in their ways, into power over us, then we will reap the rewards. When a person runs for office and says he will get us bigger raises or give us something but doesn’t stand for the ways of God, then people vote for what they need and leave God out of it. God is our provider, and HE works through Godly men. If we look at a persons character and their love for God first, then God will use that person to meet our needs. VOTE THE BIBLE We the people, have the blood of millions of babies on our hands because it is the law of the land, which is WE THE PEOPLE. If We The People ellect Godly people then we reap the rewards, but we must take care of them and stand up for them when they fight the fight and must keep them lifted up in prayer. THEY WILL BE NOTICED BY THE ENEMY. And he will try to attack them from every angle. We have seen it lately.
Praise God for a man with a backbone, and a pure heart, who stands up for truth in the White House. May others join him so we can see our nation turn from the brink of destruction.
A man truly appointed by God for this day and time with knowledge and wisdom ; who speaks with Holy Ghost Boldness. Wish more of our leaders in gov. would not pander to politics and speak truth. Thank you Trey Gowdy for your service. Angels of God protect this man in Jesus Name …..Amen
So refreshing to hear someone inside the government express their Christian ideals, and to point people to the Word and to their responsibility as Christians and as citizens of this wonderful country. God is about to surprise us all.
