Isaiah 17:1 “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, And it will be a ruinous heap.”
Mark 13:8 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.
The destruction of Damascus has not happened yet, but will be a prophecy fulfilled in the days ahead. According to U.N. estimates, at least 30,000 people have been killed in the Syrian civil war since the violence began. Every day we read in the news about new destruction and more killing that adds daily to the death toll.
Explosions rocked the eastern Damascus district of Jaramana where 34 people were killed and 83 were wounded.
State television declared this event to be “terrorist explosions.” The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition group which has monitored the Syrian violence over the past 20 months, said the blasts were caused by two car bombs.
The Jaramana neighborhood of Damascus has witnessed a series of explosions over the past several months. President Bashar al−Assad’s regime has been involved in a bloody conflict with terrorists and anti-government forces since March of 2011.
