Iraq Sees Deadliest Month Since August 2010

Rev 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

“We have so devalued human life in our society that for many people it is a small thing to kill another person.”

-Jim Bakker in “Prosperity and the Coming Apocalypse”

Over 325 people died in Iraq during the month of July marking the biggest monthly death toll in almost two years. Over 80 were police and soldiers with the remaining 241 civilians. Most were killed by al-Qaeda insurgents.

In addition to the deaths, almost 700 people were wounded in the attacks including 480 civilians. This is the highest monthly injury total in two years as well.

The AFP news agency reported that only four days in July went without terrorist attacks on civilians. The bloodshed has escalated since the departure of US troops in December 2011.

Al-Qaeda has repeatedly stated their desires to undermine the Shia-led government in the country and threatened to increase the violence.
