Rev 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).
Israeli tanks shuttled into position near the new fence on the Egyptian border.
The Israeli military said that one Israeli citizen was killed during an attack near the southern border with Egypt. Three of the militants were also slain as the gunmen assailed a convoy of construction workers building a security fence along the large southern Israel/Egypt border. The frontier fence will run most of the length of the 165 miles from Eilat, on the Red Sea, up to the Gaza Strip.
The terrorist squad opened gunfire on the convoy and also planned to fire an anti-tank rocket at an area where the border fence was being erected. Army spokesman, Yoav Mordechai declared, “Soldiers arrived on the scene and killed one terrorist.” The second militant was killed when the explosive device he was carrying detonated and the body of a third was also found at the scene.
Two of the workers were injured and the one who later died of his wounds was an Arab citizen of Israel.
It would appear that the gunmen illegally crossed the border into southern Israel from the Sinai of Egypt and attacked the workers about 18 miles from the Palestinian Gaza Strip.
Road blocks were set up and the southern borders including a major road into the resort city of Eilat was closed for a few hours. It was believed that more terrorists were involved in the attack but escaped back into Egypt.
In an unrelated matter Israel carried out an air strike on Beit Hanoun, located in the northern Gaza Strip, killing two Palestinians who were members of the militant group of Islamic Jihad.
“Only yesterday, two rockets were fired towards the southern Negev,” Mr. Barak said. “We await the (Egyptian presidential) election results. Whoever will be elected, we expect him to take responsibility on all of Egypt’s international commitments, including the peace accord with Israel and the security arrangements inside the Sinai and to swiftly put an end to these attacks.”
