Mark 13:8 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
Russian warships in the Black Sea Fleet are readied for a departure to Syria, announced the Russian General Staff.
“The Mediterranean Sea is a zone of the Black Sea Fleet responsibility. Hence, warships may go there in the case it is necessary to protect the Russian logistics base in Tartous, Syria,” a special report said. “Several warships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, including large landing ships with marines aboard, are fully prepared to go on the voyage.”
Russia strongly denounced the U.S. media reports that reported a Black Sea Fleet warship had already headed for Tartous. “All the ships are staying in Sevastopol but the Cesar Kunikov, large landing ship. Either the U.S. intelligence service works poorly or they have a poor knowledge of geography,” the Russian source said.
The U.S. State Department spokesperson responded that she could not confirm the NBC report of Russia sending a group of servicemen to Tartous on a Russian warship.
The Russian base in Tartous, Syria is its only sea base outside of Russia. It has served as a logistics center since 1971 for Soviet ships on missions in the Mediterranean Sea.
