Shoeboxes Full of God’s Love

Many have heard of Samaritan’s Purse and their Operation Christmas Child program. Reverend Franklin Graham is the President of this wonderful humanitarian organization. The goal of Samaritan’s Purse is to help suffering people by meeting their needs and especially sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Every year in support of Operation Christmas Child, thousands join in to help purchase and fill shoeboxes with items for children all over the world. These shoeboxes are full of fun gifts and needed personal items for unprivileged children who otherwise would not receive gifts. This year is very unique because Operation Christmas Child has just surpassed the 100 millionth shoebox!!

Pastor Jim and Lori Bakker along with Master Media/Generation Now students, Morningside staff and volunteers packed 135 shoeboxes on Grace Street! Each box represents a Morningside staff member and the Generation Now students. Items included were personal hygiene supplies, matchbox cars, pencils, fun stickers, girl’s hair accessories, flashlights, Bibles, school supplies and many other exciting gifts.

The boxes were prayed over by Pastor Jim and we believe that each child who receives a box will sense God’s love for them. We are truly blessed to be a part of Operation Christmas Child. A big thank you to all who helped with this project.

Who said, “You Can’t Put God in a Box?” Well, that is surely true, BUT GOD’S LOVE in the hearts of those who made this possible are included in each package.

Thank you, Pastor Jim and Lori for having a world vision and caring for those less fortunate.
