Luke 21:9-10 Jesus said, "When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away." Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom."
Israel says enough is enough! About twenty-five miles south of Jerusalem the citizens of Israel have had to put up with unrelenting Hamas rocket and mortar attacks day and night with schools closing, heading for the shelters or diving onto the ground with the sound of sirens and explosions, in an attempt to safeguard their children. Finally the Israel Defense Force retaliates and some people have the nerve to accuse Israel as the aggressor.
Yesterday the IDF hit back in an attempt to stop the violent attacks on their homeland by assassinating one of the heads of Hamas terrorist activities in Gaza. The Israel Air Force also struck several other militant targets. After Israel retaliated for Gaza’s illegal actions, Hamas officially declared war on Israel.
Israel has put their IDF Reserves on notice and is massing troops along the Gaza border for a possible ground offensive. If the Palestinian Hamas terrorists continue to push back against Israel, we may see a full blown war consume the Middle East.
Brig. General Yoav Mordechai of the IDF said in reference to the call up of Israel’s Reserve Forces, “It is a very limited call-up, with emphasis on Home Front Command units. IDF Chief of General Staff Benny Gantz has authorized the army’s regular units to prepare for a ground operation.”
The purpose of calling up reservist to active duty will be to replace the regular units in their routine duties.
The military said it was ready, if necessary, to send ground troops into Gaza.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the onset of a broad aerial and naval bombardment of Hamas military targets in the Gaza Strip, and said the IDF units were ready to widen its operations until their objectives to safeguard the Israeli people were accomplished.
In an earlier address to the press, former deputy chief of General Staff Maj. General Dan Harel said that “Hamas thought [Israel] would not retaliate” to rocket barrages in recent weeks. “They were wrong.” Hamas has escalated its smuggling of high-quality weaponry recently through the tunnels that cross under Israeli check points into Egypt, Harel explained. Hamas “felt it has enough power to face down Israel,” Harel said. “We are in the early hours of the clash, and where it goes from here depends on Hamas’s activity.”
