Christian, What Do You Have?

Sharon Couchman

So many times we hear ourselves saying, “I don’t have enough money,” or, “I don’t have any answers,” or, “I don’t know what to do.” This appears true in the natural realm, but, what do we really have as Christians? Many believers know (but there are many who don’t) — that IN CHRIST, we have everything we need!!

It’s so important for us to remind ourselves continually of what we have in Christ. Why? Because there is a very real enemy (the devil) who is trying to convince you that things won’t change and it will always be like it is now. He will try to keep you frozen in victim mentality. Just the opposite is true if you know Jesus as your Savior. You are victorious through Christ and what He did for you at Calvary and through the resurrection. However, if you lack this knowledge, then you won’t have the arsenal of God’s Word to offset the devil’s lies. Start believing and acting according to who God says we are and what He says we have in Him.

What? Even if I don’t see it in front of me, do you mean I already have access to all that I need? Well, I’m not promising you that, but God does!! And how does this work? It is because of the victory Jesus won at Golgotha, God’s Word and your faith working. We have it all through the Lord’s completed work. Let’s apply that to our life by finding out what are some of the “I have’s”. As these truths become a reality, you will walk in a greater level of victory.

Change your thinking by the renewing your mind through study of the Word. (Romans 12) Last week we discussed some truths about your identity in Christ. Let’s continue with more scriptures that reveal who you are and what you have as a believer. (Refer to last week’s devotion for Biblical references that describe who you are in Christ.)

All of the following declarations are based upon God’s Word. So here goes –

Repeat out loud:

*I have the ability and can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 – It is God’s ability in me that makes this possible.

*I have the mind of Christ. Philippians 2:5, I Corinthians 2:16

*I have a right to come boldly before God’s throne and will find mercy and grace in the time of need. Hebrews 4:16

*I have been raised up and seated with Christ in the Heavenlies. Ephesians 2:6

*I have been redeemed and I receive the lavish grace of God. Ephesians1:7

*I have and shall always have overcoming ability, because greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. I John 4:4

*I have the protection of God’s angels. Psalm 91:14-16

*I have a future for good and not evil. Jeremiah 29:11

*I will always have God’s help during times of trouble. Psalm 46:1

*I have strength because God gives it to His people. Psalms 29:11

*I have the ability to hear God’s voice because I am His child. John 10:27

*I have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 1:13

*I will always have wisdom available to me because God promises that when I ask Him for wisdom, He will give it to me liberally!! James 1:5

*I have power, love and a sound mind according to II Timothy 1:7.

*I have the Holy Spirit inside of me, because my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I Corinthians 6:19.

Friend, there are many more “I have’s” in the Bible and I encourage you to continue studying and building yourself up on your most holy faith. (Jude 2)

Jesus has made available to you all that you need to run the race of this life.
