UN Observers Find Traces of Massacre in Syria

Rev 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid). “Hardly a day goes by when our senses are not bludgeoned by some new outbreak of terrorism in the Middle East. Despite our best efforts at making and keeping the peace, political, economic, and religious tensions often lead to unrest, violence, and riots.” Jim Bakker in “Prosperity and the Coming Apocalypse”

UN observers and at least one BBC reporter have found evidence of a massacre in the Syrian city of Qubair. Reports of the massacre leaked out from various rebel sources but government troops had been blocking access by the UN to the town.

On Thursday, reporters and UN officials came under fire when they attempted to enter the town.

BBC reporter Paul Danahar reported he found burned out and gutted buildings when they finally reached the town on Friday. The bodies of Wednesday’s massacre had been removed.

The opposition Syrian National Council reported a death toll of 78, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights put the total near 55. Government controlled media in Syria said the death toll was nine.

UN envoy Kofi Annan admitted on Friday that the peace plan he had negotiated is failing. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said the likelihood of all-out war was “imminent and real.”
