Waszyngton, D.C. has adopted a new official policy. “The war on terror is over,” a senior official in the State Department stated, “Now that we have killed most of al Qaeda and people have come to see legitimate means of expression, Arabs who once might have gone into al Qaeda see an opportunity for a legitimate Islamism.”
Our government has been grappling with how to handle the radical Islamic believers. Particularly, the issue has come to the forefront in regards to Egypt, which some think is certain to elect an Islamist leader when the Egyptians go to the polls to vote.
Why is the present administration in such a quandary over the Muslim Brotherhood? The Muslim Brotherhood is now spouting this slogan to the world, “Islam is the Solution!"
You know it was the last of March, 2012 when the Brotherhood broke their promise not to run a candidate for president. As we can remember, they assassinated their leader, Anwar Sadat in 1981, because he made peace with Israel. The attackers would eventually come to be identified as Islamist nationalists associated with the Muslim Brotherhood under the name of Islamic Jihad.
The United States Congress was bypassed again recently as our administration granted one and a half billion dollars to the Muslim Brotherhood for foreign military aid. Our president has spoken of his intention to implement his economic policies with or without the approval of Congress. Powiedział, “And where Congress is not willing to act, we’re going to go ahead and do it ourselves. It now appears that such a mindset applies not only to economic matters but to the distribution of foreign aid as well–in particular, foreign military aid for the Muslim Brotherhood, who now hold the reigns in Egypt.”
In a sane world, why would anyone support a potential enemy who calls for jihad and terrorist attacks against Israel, and incites trouble against the United States and murders its allies? Then again, why would we even attempt to make a treaty or any agreement with radical Islamic Muslims?
The radical Islamists have a special word for this; “HUDNA.” This word means a false peace treaty which is concluded only between Muslims and non-Muslims. This peace treaty is for the benefit of the Muslim side, when they find themselves, at a certain point, too weak to carry on the “jihad.”
The aim of the “hudna” is to gain time in order to strengthen their Islamic military capabilities. At that point they can restart the war in a superior position. “Hudna” also aims at tranquilizing the enemy into the belief that they have achieved peace, and catch them off guard. The Islamic side can also legally abolish a “hudna” at will, even before the date it expires, if it feels strong enough to resume their war.
The White House is taking a new view of Islamist radicalism. The president believes he has no choice but to cultivate the Muslim Brotherhood and other relatively “moderate” Islamist groups emerging as lead political players out of the Arab Spring in Egypt.
Personally I find it difficult to even put the words MODERATE and MUSLIM- BROTHERHOOD in the same sentence. Anyone who thinks the war on terror is over needs to rethink the whole Middle East situation and begin preparations for World War III, the Battle of Armageddon.
