Unity governments in Israel have always been a sign of the times, either right before a war or during. This should be a warning to Iran and a sign to the world, that military action is pending if Iran does not drop their nuclear weapons program and stop producing high-grade enriched uranium.
As Israel prepares for war with Iran, the U.S. Congress allocates almost one billion dollars for Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system. The cost of an individual intercepting missile is $50,000. They will be used to knock out incoming Grad Katusha rockets fired at civilian targets in southern Israel.
The U.S. House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee appropriated $947 million for the intercepting missile system the Israelis refer to as “David’s Sling.”
US Representative Steve Rothman said this appropriation for Israel’s Iron Dome was the largest ever in a single year, allocated for military programs. The money still has to be approved by the Senate and then will be sent to the White House for Obama’s signature.
Syria is moving Scud Missiles toward Israel. Western Spy Satellites have recently spotted the movement of hundreds of Syrian heavy missile launchers to the north and to the south, toward Syria’s borders with Turkey and Israel. Syria has been threatening to incite a regional war by firing missiles into Israel and Turkey if any outside force interferes with their agenda.
Turkish and French officials have announced they were considering military intervention into Syria, where the Bashar al-Assad dictator regime has been at war against their own citizens for 14 months. The threat of civil war in Syria is eminent, if not already underway.
Syria has plans to set up a joint military situation room with Hezbollah operatives in order to share battlefield intelligence. Syrian units are focusing on information about the Israeli Air Force, including flight patterns, itd.. It sounds like a prelude to war to me.
Turkey has decided to close its airspace to Israel if war breaks out.
Hezbollah is planning on pooling their sources with Syria and target Israeli military, civilian airports and aim to destroy Israel’s fleet of military aircraft.
Syria will back up Hezbollah in fighting against any attempts by Israel’s navy to enter Lebanon’s territorial waters. This report was based on interviews with unnamed sources in Kuwaiti. The al-Rai newspaper also reported that Syria and Hezbollah in Lebanon have combined their missile capability to hit even more targets inside of Israel.
At the same time, Israel is warning Hezbollah not to attack them in retaliation to their strikes against Iran nuclear facilities. Israel says that would force them to launch a war against Lebanon, so fierce it would take them ten years to rebuild.
A senior military commander on Israel’s northern border mentioned thoughtfully, “I hope Iran will not push Hezbollah into a war that Iran will not pay the price for, but that Lebanon will.” He then added, “Israel was much too cautious in their approach to the 2006 conflict with Hezbollah, which led to dozens of Israeli soldiers dying. No such mistake will be made in the next conflict.”
The Hezbollah terrorist groups have built military sites in the center of many villages and towns in southern Lebanon. They have also acquired a stockpile of over 50,000 rockets of greater sophistication and range. According to Israeli intelligence assessments, their missiles are now capable of striking Tel Aviv, which is more than 70 miles south of their position.
Hundreds of Muslim Clerics in India are demanding that India break off diplomatic ties with Israel. Shiite Muslims are also calling for closing down India’s embassy in Washington. The clerics accuse the U.S. and Israel of being the “biggest sponsors of international terrorists.” They would like to see India focus on improving relations with the Palestinian Authority, Iran and Syria.
