Activating God’s Power in Your Life (Part 1)

Terry Lynn Stubblefield

I believe one of the ways God is going to prove Himself in the midst of all that’s going on right now is through the demonstration of His power. God is going to show the unsaved world there are rewards for serving Him. There is no certainty in banks, jobs or governments. Our certainty is in God!

Isaiah 60:1 (Amp) says, “ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you — rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!

The word arise means to “change your posture and position.” When you involve God in your circumstances, things change. Perhaps you are asking, “So, how do I change my posture and position?” You must activate God’s power in your life. I define power as “the ability to get results”! God’s glory will be on you and it shall be seen on you. Isaiah 60:2 (Amp)

God wants His glory to be on you! God desires to put you on display. When you shine, you bring Him glory! There may be people who won’t listen to what you have to say right now. But once your posture and position change, they will begin to listen. God is going to demonstrate His power through you, and when He does His goodness will be undeniable!

To be successful, you must rely on God’s supernatural ability. In other words, you need His ability working through you to get results. Don’t fall into the trap of relying on your experience alone to succeed. Experience, education and who you know can only take you so far. Paul said it best in 1 Corinthians 2:5:

“That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”

The answers we need, and the answers the world needs for that matter, can only be found in God. When we allow His power to work through us, it will have great influence—not just in the Church or community, but in the world. When the world sees the evidence of God’s power in action, they’ll take notice.

If you’re serious about changing your posture and position, the transformation MUST begin in you. Don’t expect God to wave a magic wand over your situation. He’s not into magic tricks. You can’t keep doing things the same way and expect different results.

Change is up to you. The first step toward change is decision. You must decide to change. The second step is to stop making excuses. And third, you must be willing to change NOW!
