Bombing Campaign Kills 25 In Iraq

Revelation 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

A bombing campaign carried out through a series of car and truck bombs roared through multiple towns and villages in northern Iraq with at least 25 confirmed dead.

The towns are in an area of the country in dispute between the Iraqi government and the Kurdish minority that lives in the region. The Kurds govern a region in the north that is considered autonomous.

The bomb attacks are the key parts of a second day of violence throughout the region. The worst of the assaults was a truck bomb in Mosul that killed at least 7 people and wounded dozens of others.

The attacks went as far south as the capital of Baghdad.

Experts say the tensions in the region are flaring due to dispute over the Kirkuk and Jalula regions, which are very rich in oil. If the Kurdish regional government can assert control it could cause major problems for the established Iraqi authority.
