Houla Massacre Could Be Crime Against Humanity

Rev 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

The High Commissioner for Human Rights at the United Nations has stated that the massacre of over 100 civilians in Houla, Syria by government affiliated forces could amount to a crime against humanity.

The international community needs to “make all efforts to end impunity and ensure the accountability of perpetrators,” Navi Pillay stated.

The statement comes amid news that thirteen people were forced off a bus and executed by government militia near the town of Qusair, Syria. The accounts of the activists reporting the killings have not been verified however UN observers have reported similar acts.

The UN Human Rights Council is meeting in it’s fourth emergency session regarding the civil war in Syria since March 2011. The 47 member council is expected to issue another condemnation of the Syrian government’s actions.
