Violence Spreads in Syria

Rotação 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

More violence continues in Syria. At least 27 people were killed and 97 wounded in two explosions that rocked Damascus and covered the city with black smoke, over this past weekend. Tens of thousands of people have already been killed and some 230,000 forced to flee their homes as the violence spreads. Much of the Arab world as well as the West have demanded that President Assad step down. Syria’s allies; Rússia, China and Iran have defended Assad and cautioned against outsiders sticking their nose in where it is not welcome.

Some are very concerned that Iran, Syria and Hezbollah terrorists joining forces may upset the balance of power in the Middle East. Transfers of huge quantities of surface-to-air missiles from Syria to the terrorists have taken place. It has also been pointed out that large amounts of chemicals have been moved into terrorist’s hands, plus biological weapons. These reports have authorities in the region worried. This shift in policy began even before the uprising against Assad’s government. Since the dictator lost complete control, the weapon transfers have increased, and now include drones and shore-to-ship missiles.

Iran is also planning, promoting and openly supporting an Arab Global March to Jerusalem, “their capital” they claim. However, the Israelis will never give up their rights to this God-given land, the City of Peace. The demonstrators will be “demanding freedom for Palestine,” but in actuality, it is a scheme that aims at getting over one million Arabs and their supporters to infiltrate Israel’s borders on March 30. Plans for the rally were laid out at a conference in Jordan recently.
