The Palestinians claim that Jerusalem is the capitol city of Palestine. They have been taught a made-up story for many years. It must be difficult for them to see through the Islamic rhetoric and political jargon.
Being an Arab, a descendant of Ishmael; (primogênito) son of Abraham and the hand-maiden, does not necessarily make them a Palestinian. Normally in the Middle East, traditionally speaking, the first-born son inherits the land, but in this case, Isaac, whom the Jews are descended from; (the second-born son of Abraham), was born of the marriage union between Sara and Abraham. Isaac was the natural son (primogênito) of that union and the one whom God promised the land.
Therein lies the whole squabble over the land of Israel, which continues to this very day. Simplificando, it is a family fight over the inheritance!
The Palestinian minister of the interior and Palestinian National Security, Fathi Hammad stated on a local Arab TV station, that the roots of most Palestinians are elsewhere in the Middle East. “Every Palestinian in Gaza and throughout Palestine can prove his Arab roots (as sons of Ishmael) – whether from Saudi Arabia, from Yemen or elsewhere. We have blood ties.” Hammad continued to say that those who have been asking for statehood through the U.N. would like you to believe the Palestinian Arabs are different from other Arab nations and that is why they need their own homeland, but that is not a legitimate argument.
Na verdade,, Fathi Hammad was trying to convince Egypt along with other neighboring states through this television show, that they should supply free fuel for Hamas controlled Gaza to use, “in order to continue to wage Jihad.” He said, “Brothers, half of the Palestinians are Egyptians and the other half are Saudis.” They are not Palestinians at all.
Hammad’s remarks were undoubtedly never intended for a Western audience.
Even though the Palestinian identity is based on such a thin veneer, the Arabs claim that Jerusalem belongs to them and is the Capital of the Palestinians. This bone of contention continues to raise its ugly head in Middle East peace talks.
The official stance of the Palestinian Authority and Chairman Mahmound Abbas is one of denial about Israel’s 3,000 years of history in Jerusalem. They claim that Jerusalem is only a Muslim and Christian city. Of course they don’t even seem to understand that Jesus was, and is a Jew. Abbas accuses Israel of stealing the “cultural, human, and Islamic-Christian religious history,” and that Israel is attempting “to create an artificial heritage with a Jewish spirit at the expense of its true and authentic identity as an Arab, Islamic and Christian city.” Abbas declares that it is a “fard ayn,” a religious Islamic obligation of the highest level, a personal Islamic commandment incumbent on every Muslim to take Jerusalem away from Israel.
