Heaven’s 9-1-1

Sharon Couchman

During this memorial week of 9/11 we are reminded of the devastation that thrust our nation into panic in 2001.  Fear and shock gripped the hearts of Americans and the world on that day.  We watched in horror as we saw the twin towers fall and survivors fleeing for their lives.

So this week especially, keep the families who lost loved ones and the survivors in your hearts and prayers.  Please join us in praying for the safety and protection of our nation and leaders.

In the midst of all the world’s turmoil, wars and rumors of wars, it is difficult not to be concerned about future events.  Prophecies will be fulfilled, but God is still our Refuge and Protector.  He watches over us.

I just want to take a few moments today to encourage you to call Heaven’s 9-1-1.  Your call will be personally answered by Jesus.  No I’m not making light of this at all, in fact, just the opposite.

Years ago Tennessee Ernie Ford sang a song that said, “Hello Operator, get me Jesus on the line.”  The wonderful news is that when we pray in Jesus’ name we have an immediate connection with Heaven’s 9-1-1.  Think about this!   Who better to pray for you than Jesus?

Romans 8:34 KJV “…It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”

The Lord is always present to help us.  He is with us during our trying times and every day frustrations.  In fact, before you even call, Jesus has already been praying for you!

God is the ultimate problem solver.  People often pay thousands of dollars to get advice from professionals regarding their finances, relationships, health, job challenges, etc.  But guess what?  These answers are readily available to anyone who will take the time to inquire of the Lord, study His Word and, if need be, seek godly counsel.

The Good News is that Heaven’s emergency number is available 24/7.  When challenges and obstacles suddenly confront you, Heaven is waiting for your call.  Often in emergencies there is no time for a long prayer.  A desperate cry of “HELP” is instantly heard by the Lord.

Psalm 46:1 says that God is a very present help in time of trouble.  Also, the Lord says in Psalm 91:15 “He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.”

Wow!  What a promise.

Once you utter your plea, the Lord begins setting things in motion for you to receive help.  God often impresses some of His people, through the urging of the Holy Spirit, to pray for you.  He may even dispatch special angels to assist you!    So look up, Friend, help is on the way.  You are not alone.

The next time you are blindsided by the enemy’s attack, an unexpected event, or perhaps just having a difficult day, call immediately upon the Lord.  Anticipate an answer and trust Jesus with your situation.  Cast your care and stay in agreement with God’s Word.

The Good News is when you call Heaven’s 9-1-1 the lines are never jammed or so busy that your call cannot get through.  God’s heavenly satellite is always receiving signals of prayer from Earth.  No thunderstorm can knock out this communication — so start dialing!!
