Walking By Faith

Terry Lynn Stubblefield

Walking by faith is not easy. If it were easy, more people would be doing it. However, if you are willing to pay the price, walking by faith is doable–and well worth the commitment. Faith walking means you believe what God has said in His Word, and then you act on it before you see any evidence of what has been promised. When you truly believe God’s Word, then your words will agree with His. Discover what God’s Word says about your situation and then say what God says.

Romans 10:8 — “This is what the Scripture says: The Word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart. That is the teaching of faith that we are telling.”(NCV)

How does faith come? The answer is found in Romans 10:17 which tells us that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Knowing God’s truth is required for you to have faith and grow in faith.

Being a strong believer and walking by faith doesn’t just drop out of the sky and fall on you. Strong faith people are not automatically created. Their faith walk doesn’t just happen overnight. Faith walkers grow according to how much Word they put before their eyes and hear with their ears. As faith people allow the Word to be planted into their hearts, they will eventually speak it!

Spending time in the Word is essential to your faith walk. Regardless of how busy you may be, it is important to study God’s Word daily to increase your faith walk. Your mind can be renewed with God’s Word by allowing it to take over your thoughts, actions, words and life. You will get to know God better by diligently spending time in His Word. You can trust the Lord to meet all your needs. Psalm 34:10 says, “They that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.” Staying in the Word causes your faith to grow exceedingly and then you can believe God for anything you find in His Word.

Only you can fill up your heart! You are responsible for what you believe and say! Continue to speak faith words that agree with God’s Word. Maintain agreement in your thoughts and words with God’s truths. Your faith words give voice to what you have asked for and believe you have received. As you consistently practice and develop the habit of saying things that agree with the scriptures, it results in those things coming to pass!

Pay close attention to the words that come out of your mouth. Matt 12:34–“for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” When you catch yourself talking unbelief, just repent and ask God for forgiveness. In Jesus’ Name break the power of those words and get back on track. Say exactly what you believe (according to the scriptures) — not how it is in the natural.

Proverbs 4:20-22 “My son, attend to My Words; incline thine ear unto My sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”

As you speak words of faith, you will begin to see the victory! The process of increasing your faith and how far you go with God is really up to you.

Jeremiah 29:13–And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. (KJV)
