Pastor Jim & Lori Bakker and Tammy Sue Bakker discuss the importance of family for Day 2 on The Jim Bakker Show.
I Go To The Rock
“We have taken God away. We have put Bible reading and prayer [as] illegal in our schools. We have rebellion. We have lawlessness.” -Pastor Jim Bakker
“Our ministry has been trying our best to get people to be ready for these days that we’re living in.” – Pastor Jim Bakker
Pastor Jim began by giving the Biblical description of what the world, and people in it, would be like in the last days. A time when a spirit of rebelliousness and lawlessness would reign and the hearts of many would turn cold. He then cited a news story that reported that hard partying young people held the highest death rates of all high income countries. Kevin Shorey noted that the popular songs of this generation speak clearly and boldly about drinking, using drugs and even activities like stripping. Pastor Jim said the time is now when people love pleasure more than they love God, another scriptural sign of the end. He added, however, that the signs also point to the nearness of the redemption of the righteous.
He is skeptical that the people of the nation will turn to God and repent without some major catastrophe occurring. He revealed that God has shown him that an atomic bomb is already being built, with parts smuggled into the country by enemies of America. His hope is that a revival will take over the land but his doubts stem from the fact that many in the church have accepted and live by a false doctrine, the gospel of prosperity. He said some church goers are angry at those who preach Revelation because they find the last book of the Bible frightening and would rather hold to a teaching that tells them how rich God wants them to be.
Although he helped invent the “gospel of prosperity,” he now admits his error and said he firmly believes that the “other doctrine” spoken of as having prevalence in the end time, refers to this erroneous teaching that focuses on attainment of riches and wealth. The harlot of Revelation, he continued, symbolizes accumulation and love of material things. He explained that 9/11 destroyed the World Trade Center towers and left people around the world marveling over the destruction of that international symbol of trade and financial matters. In the same way, Rev. 18:17 says people around the world lamented over how a city known for its riches and influence fell in an hour. He encouraged the audience to prepare for the troublesome days that lie ahead for America.
Matthew 24:12 KJV And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
II Timothy 4:3 KJV For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
Romans 6:23 KJV For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
II Timothy 3:1-2 NCV Remember this! In the last days there will be many troubles, because people will love themselves, love money, brag, and be proud. They will say evil things against others and will not obey their parents or be thankful or be the kind of people God wants.
Luke 21:28 NKJV Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
Matthew 12:25 KJV And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
Galatians 6:7 KJV Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
II Thessalonians 2:11 KJV And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
I Timothy 6:10 KJV For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Ezekiel 7:19 KJV They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
I John 2:15 KJV Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Revelation 17-18 The Harlot of Revelation
Revelation 18:18 NCV As they saw the smoke from her burning, they cried out loudly, “There was never a city like this great city!”
Revelation 18:17 NCV All these riches have been destroyed in one hour!” Every sea captain, every passenger, the sailors, and all those who earn their living from the sea stood far away from Babylon.
