Racy Novel Replaces Gideon Bible

Gideon Bible

The Traditional Gideon Bible is being replaced and exchanged at the Damson Dene Hotel in London for a steamy novel known for its explicit sexual content.

Hotel owner, Jonathan Denby told NBC; “Everybody is reading ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’ we thought it would be a hospitable thing to do, to have this available for our guests, especially if some of them were a little bit shy about buying it because of its (bad) reputation.” Denby went on to explain, that he found religious books (the Bible) a “wholly inappropriate” choice for private bedrooms in England’s modern, secular society.

Ironically, the British hotel property was purchased from a Methodist group about ten years ago. Reverend Michael Woodcock said the hotel was only trying to cash in on the writer’s success. “It is just a gimmick really,” the local vicar said.

There are also hotels in the U.S. offering the “50 Shades of Grey” romance packages that let you live out your wildest Christian Grey oriented fantasies at their hotels.

About 20 miles north of Dallas, Texas you will find a nice little Christian traditional community with the Frisco Independent School District. The school district got into trouble by allowing Gideons International to display Bibles on tabletops in all 13 of the district’s middle and high schools last week. Officials say it didn’t violate the law, but some parents complained that the school house is not the place to be offering the Good Book. The school is a place for learning!

Adult representatives for the Gideons have been barred by federal circuit courts from offering Bibles inside classrooms, but they continue to offer to provide them at many schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and elsewhere. The group, founded in 1907, has distributed about 1.5 billion Bibles in the last century, mostly in hotel rooms.

Personally I don’t see fifty shades of gray! It all looks like black and white to me and I am not color blind. Gray is a neutral color and I am not neutral when it comes to the Word of God. I am not a lukewarm Christian in a dried up traditional church. When Jesus returns, will He find a glorious bride, without spot or wrinkle or any other defect, but to be holy and unblemished? (Eph. 5:27)

(Jesus said) “So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.” (Revelation 3:16)

Do you hear it? The answer is blowing in the wind!
