Isaiah 46:8-10 “Remember this... I am God, and there is no other.... I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.”
I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the headlines out of Israel today, “MK calls for a Third Temple in Jerusalem.” Zevulun Orlev advocates in the Knesset, a Basic Law to protect this project from prosecution and ‘hostile, left-wing, secular media.’
The 3rd Temple period is the “Tribulation Temple,” spoken of by the prophet Daniel. “Those who are wise will understand. From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. (3 ½ years) Daniel 12:11
Matthew 24:15, When you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, Whoever reads this, let him understand. (This is the middle of the 7 year tribulation period, and after this follows the Great Tribulation of God’s wrath for 3 ½ years.)
When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation standing where it does not belong, let the reader understand, then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. (Mark 13:13-14) In other words when you see the antichrist standing at the Temple in Jerusalem, it is time for the Great Tribulation of God’s Wrath to start, and it’s time to head for the hills.
The second advent of Jesus is getting closer. You see there has not been a Temple in Jerusalem since Herod’s (2nd Temple Period). The third Temple will reestablish sacrifice for the Jews and the antichrist will demand worship from the Temple in Jerusalem right before God’s wrath is poured out on a wicked society. He (the antichrist) will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple (the third Temple), proclaiming himself to be God. (2 Thessalonians 2:4)
Zevulun Orlev of the Jewish Home party, in the Knesset has called for massive reforms, including new Basic Laws, in order to establish a Third Temple in Jerusalem.
In a published article called, “Internal and Legislative Reform,” Mr. Orlev wrote that the Temple must be rebuilt in Jerusalem and that “fundamental changes” to Israeli society and government were necessary in order to realize the success of the project. Besides spiritual reform and the creation of a team of religious experts capable of running the new Temple, Orlev argued, “assuming the government will choose to be democratic,” they must turn back the opposition surrounding the project.
“It will be necessary to defeat no-confidence motions, to overcome the hostile, left wing, secular media, and to ignore doubting economists who will say it’s a waste of public funds.” Really? Is it a waste of public funds to build a Temple for the Most High God in Jerusalem? Do you think that was a problem in the first Temple Period?
Zevulun Orlev thinking outside the box plans to prevent any appeals to the High Court of Justice. He is attempting to create legislation for a new Basic Law that would guarantee funding and manpower and protect the Third Temple from prosecution.
“The law will also protect the Third Temple project from accusations of discrimination, inequality of women in the Temple service, and animal cruelty in the offering of sacrifices,” Orlev insisted.
Orlev recognizes that to remove the ”religious and political impediment” to his plan, namely the presence of the al-Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock atop the Temple Mount, would mean that the “billion-strong Muslim world would surely launch a world war.” However, he added, “everything political is temporary and there is no stability,” and “Of late we’re witnessing dramatic political changes that have occurred in many Arab countries.”
The removal of the ”religious and political impediments,” that Mr. Orlev refers to is, of course, the most highly valued mosque in the Muslim world. However, do not be dismayed. There is an empty place the size of a football field to the right of the golden topped Dome of the Rock (looking down from the Mount of Olives). The dome sits directly over the Rock of Sacrifice. This piece of real estate might be part of an end-time peace treaty with Israel and the Arabs could keep their mosques in place.
One thing is for sure, the prophetic events of Daniel are lining up and that means it won’t be long before we see the Second Coming of Jesus. For this, we can rejoice!
