Pro-lifers began “The 40 Days for Life Campaign,” as a peaceful prayer and fasting event in cities around the world. They have reported saving at least 5,838 children from abortion, closing 22 abortion clinics, and encouraged 69 workers to walk away from their abortion jobs since it started in 2007.
Well, here’s a twist, Planned Parenthood (PP) saw the success of “40 Days of Life” and decided to imitate or come forth with a deceptive copy. They named their campaign “40 Days of Prayer for Abortion.”
Now Prayer is normally a very good thing! Of course you should be committed to prayer, and praying to our Father God in the name of Jesus, if you want your prayers to rise higher than your roof.
It is also a very good idea to be praying; the will of God. Search His Scriptures if you do not know the will of God. I promise you, you will not find any scriptures that support praying for the right to choose to end a life with abortion.
You will find the answers to your questions in His Word. I would also remind you that there is woe to those who call evil good and good evil.
It is a horrible sight to view dead human bodies in piles as we see so often in wars and uprisings. But, the sight of fetuses and tiny body parts discarded like trash into garbage cans and dumpsters at abortion mills should horrify us enough to pray that this atrocity be stopped.
It is as horrific as the Jewish holocaust. Abortion clinics are the scenes of violent murder perpetrated against the innocent. 42 million deaths a year are attributed to abortion, world-wide. You don’t really want to know how these children are being murdered, but one method includes making a hole in the back of the fetus skull and vacuuming out the brain with a suction tool. The abortion clinics are nothing more than “killing fields,” where people get paid for committing mass murder.
To pray that “gentleness, calm and love” surrounds these killing fields is insane.
Isn’t it interesting how the terms and names of organizations and things surrounding such events have been “cleansed.” The 40 day prayers themselves are credited to Faith Aloud, a religious and ethical voice for reproductive justice.
Day 38 Prayer: “Today we pray for a cloud of gentleness to surround every abortion facility. May everyone feel calm and loving.” This sounds like “New Age” rhetoric to me.
They forgot that the “EVERYONE” they were praying for, did not include the victim, the child, the innocent one. It was not part of the program to pray for the life they exterminate in any of their 40 days of prayer. Whoops! Did they forget an important part of this equation? Are we to pray for “gentleness, calm and love” in the throes of mass murder?
Have we been so filled with humanistic philosophy, we have become desensitized along the way and have become dehumanized?
Religious leaders in Eureka, California are saying, “We believe that human life is holy. That’s why we believe in your right to choose.” Some of the local “churches” participating in the pro-abortion prayer event include: Temple Beth El in Eureka, Humboldt Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Bayside, St. Francis in Fortuna, Old Town Gazebo in Eureka, and Arcata United Methodist.
“40 Days of Prayer” for Abortion is scheduled from March 18 to April 27 and includes several local gatherings “in celebration of women and reproductive rights.” Planned Parenthood is mimicking the “40 Days of Prayer for Life.” This organization has become a thorn in the side of Planned Parenthood. Even though they are copying the events, they derided the campaign as “40 days and nights of intimidation and harassment.”
David Bereit, National Director of 40 Days for Life, stated, “Some say that ‘imitation is the sincerest form of flattery,’ but when that imitation is being used to promote the killing of innocent children, we are anything but flattered. Planned Parenthood has stooped to a new low by exploiting pastors and churches to ‘celebrate’ the slaughter of babies made in God’s image and likeness. They certainly wouldn’t be doing this if 40 Days for Life wasn’t having a devastating impact on their abortion business!”
What can I do, you ask? I would suggest you pray for the people who are praying for abortion. You can even stand up with Pastor Jim & Lori Bakker who are working to help young girls make the right decisions in life concerning abortion and the true alternatives.
There are many of us that straddle the fence on different issues. I am Pro-Life and Pro-Choice. However, the only choice comes before conception.
“This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you, life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” Deuteronomy 30:19.
I know this verse is speaking of spiritual life and does not deal directly with abortion, but it is a rhema word for this situation and it refers to obeying God’s word.
He is your life and the length of your days on the earth.
