The true Word of God is mighty like a hammer that smashes rocks to pieces. It hammers at our flesh; it will not comfort us in our lusts or our love of materialism. But not only is the Word a hammer, it is also a beacon that lights our paths. The Holy Spirit uses the Word to shed light on our lives, to convict us of our sin, and to guide us to the truth.
