Several years ago my husband and I owned a business. All of our children worked with us. My husband, John, and I each worked about 60 hours a week. Our sons would help us after school and on weekends. We all worked very hard trying to make a living.

Multitudes of Christians are praying for the peace of Jerusalem, but why? What good does it do? Is praying about this really necessary? What does God have to say about this subject?
God Himself instructs us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. He also tells us that this nation is the apple of His eye! When one hears the Shepherd’s voice, praying for Jerusalem is a mandatory requirement, not an option.

In my last devotional I shared about my husband being healed at a camp meeting. That experience was the beginning of a real turnaround in our lives.
We returned home from the family camp we attended in Southern California with a deep hunger in our hearts for more of God. Mark 11:17 Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’?
God has called the Church to be a house of prayer for all nations. We are to be known for prayer. It’s not that other issues are not important, because they certainly are. But when we line things up with God’s priority, it’s like buttoning a shirt. We button the top button first, and then everything else begins to match up and begins to work.
Somewhat similarly, it’s like when we fail to tithe or honor the Sabbath in an effort to have enough money and enough time for ourselves. These efforts are in vain because we are denying God’s blessings on our own efforts. Continue reading

Last year during the heat of summer, Pastor Jim prophesied an upcoming season of “COLD, COLD, COLD!” As we neared the end of 2013, Storm Cleon hit with a vengeance blanketing a 1600-mile area and leaving behind record-breaking artic blasts. Those of us living in the Ozarks were surprised by how long the freezing temperatures hovered–especially since it wasn’t technically winter yet! I enjoy sleeping in a cold room huddled under a blanket, but those bone-chilling nights found me searching for an extra comforter.
Already in the first part of 2014 America has again experienced frigid temperatures in unusual areas. The national news has described many extreme weather conditions as “apocalyptic”, “biblical” or of “biblical proportion”. Continue reading
As I think back in my life at the goodness of the Lord, I am so thankful for the way the Lord has led me. I only wish that I had kept a journal along life’s way, as I know that I have forgotten many things. As I am writing this, I am asking the Lord to bring to my remembrance what I should share that would minister life to others.

This verse from Psalm 27 reads like this from the Hebrew (Art Scrolls Tehellim). This is a literal Hebraic translation from the book of Psalms. (Hashem is the word for Lord).
“One thing I asked of HASHEM, that shall I see: that I dwell (literally: sit) in the House of HASHEM all the days of my life. To behold the delight of HASHEM and to meditate (literally: search).”

Just a few weeks ago I got a call that the house I was born in and grew up in had burned down to the ground. It was a complete shock to me. So many memories were made in that old house.
I remember playing cowboys and Indians with my cousins outside for hours. I made mud pies alongside of the house with my sisters. Memories of playing marbles and playing jacks flash through my mind.
In those day we had fun just making up things to do. Once we played around a propane tank and when we raised the lid a bunch of wasps flew out and started stinging us. Well my Aunt Nannie took out of her mouth the most ugliest brown mess you ever saw, slapped it on our stings and the stings went away. That yucky mess was called chewing tobacco! Continue reading
A king is born! A king is born! There was a big celebration in Heaven at the birth of Jesus. The angels praised and worshipped God when Christ’s birth was announced to the shepherds.
Luke 2:10-14 KJV “And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
Many centuries had passed since the prophecy was given that Christ would come to the earth. At the time of Jesus’ birth, the Jews were crying out for a Deliver. They knew of the promise of a King of Kings coming to earth to rule and reign and longed desperately to be rescued. But many did not recognize that their Messiah had been sent to them as a baby wrapped in flesh. Continue reading
