JESUS SAID “I WILL MAKE YOU FISHERS OF MEN”
Matt 4:18-20 – “And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 9) And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20) And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.” Mark 1:17 – “Come after me and I will make you to be fishers of men.” (KJV) Continue reading →
The Lord has a good life for all of us. In Jeremiah 29:11 God says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil to give you an expected end.”
When Jesus won the victory at Calvary and was resurrected, He defeated the devil and won the victory over evil. In turn, Jesus gave us authority in His name over the enemy so that we could experience a victorious life. Although we are living in a fallen earth that has yet to be restored, we are instructed and encouraged by many scriptures to enjoy the journey. Continue reading →
Living without fear – is that even possible? Everyday we are confronted with opportunities to be fearful. Especially in these end times we are being bombarded with news of unparalleled weather events, escalated violence, high unemployment rates and economic downturn. Many nations are in turmoil and revolt and a plague of home foreclosures are all around us. Unless we are rooted and grounded in the Word of God, all these negative reports can shake our sense of well being, thus opening us up to mental torment and the “what if’s”. The devil uses the weapon of fear against all mankind, especially the Body of Christ. Fear torments and robs us of peace. If not dealt with, the fear tactic will hinder or destroy God’s people. “In ALL your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:6
As we spend time with God each day, God will direct everything we do, and everywhere we go. How? He does this by giving us direction and wisdom beyond our own human abilities. If you have lived very long you probably realize that without the Lord we are dumber than a fence post and nothing we do is of lasting eternal value. Continue reading →
“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted (disturbed) within me…?” Psalm 42:5 (NKJV)
The psalmist in this scripture is trying to boost himself up, by giving himself a pep talk. His soul (mind, will and emotions) are screaming the blues and depression. The answer to these two questions in Psalm 42:5 goes on and says, “…Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.” Continue reading →
“Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; For the Lord will be your confidence. And will keep your foot from being caught.” Proverbs 3:25-26 (NKJV)
Notice in the above verse these words – wicked when it comes. It does not say this with an IF in front of it. Most of us know that the wicked enemy does come and many times comes with sudden terror. The Lord wants to encourage us that we can have absolute confidence in Him when the wicked comes. We serve a God that literally sits in heaven and laughs at the enemy when He sees him plotting against us. Continue reading →
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Psalm 103:2
Our Heavenly Father provides wonderful benefits for those who trust in Him. Most employers and insurance companies offer benefits but they are nothing compared to the gifts that God has for us. Continue reading →
What am I going to do now? How many times have we asked ourselves this question throughout our life? Unexpected circumstances, illness, trauma, betrayal, loss of employment or the sudden death of a loved one can throw us into a tailspin and cloud of confusion. Fear, hopelessness, and despair attempt to torment our minds during these times. Continue reading →
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1
The 23rd Psalm is a familiar one. You may know it by memory. Let’s look at it afresh today as if it is the first time you have read it. This Psalm is another wonderful promise from God’s Word. Continue reading →
“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore speak… While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal”. (2 Corinthians 4:13,18)
These verses reveal that the “spirit of faith” believes. What does it believe? The Word of God—and Faith believes just because God said it whether or not natural circumstances agree with it or not. Continue reading →
