The Rapture Chapter (part 4)

The third woe found in Revelation 11:19 is the turning point in the visions given to the apostle John. Clearly, the best and the worst will happen now.

The seventh angel blows the seventh trumpet (11:15), the last trumpet blast mentioned in the Bible. This is it! Time has come! Jesus is coming back with this last trumpet! We know from the other overlays of scripture that the following events will occur simultaneously.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 KJV)

Notice, when the trumpet sounds, instantly the Christians who are alive as well as those who are dead will be caught up together to meet Jesus.

But look! I tell you this secret: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed. It will take only a second—as quickly as an eye blinks—when the last trumpet sounds. The trumpet will sound, and those who have died will be raised to live forever, and we will all be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:51–52 NCV)

Whether we are alive at Christ’s coming or whether we have already died, we will all be instantaneously changed at the sound of the last trumpet. In a moment, in the blink of an eye, our earthly bodies will be transformed into bodies suitable for heaven.

At the same time, as Jesus said: “Then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” (Matthew 16:27; 24:30–31)

The events we commonly associate with the Rapture will take place at this point in Revelation. This, I believe, is the true Rapture—to use a familiar term—the Second Coming! All that Paul described in 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 will happen here. The victory has been won!

Those who believe in a pre-Tribulation Rapture do not consider the trumpets mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15:52 and 1 Thessalonians 4:16 as being the same as the one John mentioned in Revelation 11:15. Scripture does not delineate between the trumpets described as the last. Had God wanted to distinguish between the trumpets—as He did with the seven trumpets noted in Revelation 10–11—He could have done so, but He did not. That’s why I believe these trumpets are the same. Furthermore, I believe this is the same trumpet to which Jesus referred in Matthew 24:31.

The unusual aspect about this event in Revelation, though, is that John wrote about it as though it had already happened. He told the story as if the victory had already been won (even though there are still eleven chapters to go in the book). I believe John wrote it this way because God wants us to know that the final victory is assured.

When the seventh trumpet sounds, three dramatic events occur: (1) an announcement of victory; (2) an acclamation of praise; and (3) the ark of the covenant revealed as the temple of God in heaven is opened. Let’s look at each of these more closely.

  1. if everyone is raised from the dead and ones that are alive are changed , who is left to continue in the millium to reproduce in mortal bodies at this point

    • Those that died that never heard the real truth from the time right after the days of Peter and Paul up to the Tribulation Period when the whole truth comes again. Those in between those times never heard the real truth and never had the chance to accept it or reject it, will be raised and taught by Yahweh Messiah Himself during the Millennial Kingdom.
Christians have been taught they go to heaven, but when Yahweh returns He is coming to wipe out the armies of every nation that goes against Jerusalem and the armies are there to fight Yahweh too. Yahweh collects His people, then wipes out all the armies, and kills and burns up every person left on earth, there will be no one alive when that happens. Yahweh Messiah then brings His people with Him right back to this earth to set-up His Millennial Kingdom. Yahweh even says the people will say we have learned nothing but lies from our forefathers…..so these are not the true believers that reign with Yahweh at that time, these are the people who the true believers will reign over with Yahweh. This is why Satan is released from the grave after the Millennial Kingdom to deceive the world one last time and the White Throne Judgment, there will be no more excuses. Everyone at that time was taught by Yahweh Himself.
