Satisfied

When Jason Crabb was with us recently, he sang a song that is so “me” that it was like someone reached right down in my soul and pulled out the very words! That’s the way it is with spiritual songs and songwriters and singers who are led of the Lord. A spiritual song will always speak to the deepest part of you. It’s like the scripture, “as deep calls to deep” (Psalm 42:7).

Here are the lyrics with my comments in between:

Satisfied

You satisfy my soul

And I stand amazed at the blessings I’ve known

And still to this day, the mercies You show

Make it clear to see, that you love me.

**In all the years that I partied and conducted my life in a very sinful way, I never found what I was looking for (now there’s a U2 song!), but the day I turned my life over to Jesus, I was so completely satisfied! Oh, the memory of that day will never fade. Being born again is euphoric beyond anything this world can ever manufacture in all its attempts to counterfeit real and spiritual joy.

And you give each breath I breathe

You color the skies with beautiful leaves

You’ve proven that You will provide for my needs

The way You fill me, Lord, how could I ask for more

And I’m….

**Even the colors you’ve looked at but never really seen, are more vivid and bright when you know the Creator of them. And to say that God was and is faithful to provide all my needs is such an understatement! Even when I was alone before Jim and I married, God was faithful to provide for me. I never lacked for anything that I truly needed, and most things that I wanted. After I met and married Jim… well, just read my book! The title says it all, “More Thank I Could Ever Ask.”

Satisfied, satisfied

I’ve been cared for so faithfully

But Lord hear my plea and may it be

That You’re satisfied with me

You give me grace without end

And You have forever removed all my sin

And now the maker of heaven and earth calls me friend

And from the joy that brings

Oh, how my spirit sings

That I’m…

**To know that you know that you are the Lord’s and that nothing… and I mean nothing, will ever change that, is a peace beyond understanding.

Satisfied, I’m satisfied

I’ve been cared for so faithfully

But Lord hear my plea and may it be

That You’re satisfied with me

Lord hear my plea and may it be

That You’re satisfed

Are you satisfied

Please be satisfied with me

**Though we sometimes measure ourselves by ourselves, Jesus never does. It is enough that you believe in the saving and cleansing power of the Blood of Jesus and you follow Him with all your heart and all your strength and all your soul. In my humanity, I may fall short of sinless perfection, but in my spirit, I am strong and powerful. In my weakness, He is strong.

“And he hath said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

2 Corinthians 12:9

  1. Dear Lori, I couldn’t believe my eyes, when I went into read your blog today and you were speaking of Jason Crabb’s song “Satisfied”. I had been listening to his new C.D. “Love Is Stronger” all that day. I am so thankful that I ordered it, every song speaks to my soul, but when I first heard, “Satisfied” I cried. As I look back on my life and all that the Lord has brought me through and done for me and my family and how He has been so faithful to me, even when I was on a death bed. He has satisfied my every longing, my every need, but oh, how I pray from the bottom of my heart that He will be satisfied with me! When I stand before Him, face to face, I want to hear those words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Thank you Lori for sharing your humble heart with us every day. Both you and Jim and all you do to further God’s kingdom are in my daily prayers, love you both, Leslie-Anne

You are such a blessing to me!! God bless you and your family. With lots of love, Lori H.

  3. As I read your blog today, before another day with John Paul Jackson, I could hear (in my mind) Jason’s song in the background as you shared in between lyrics! A message in itself and perfect with Jason’s song softly playing behind you!

Sounds like more than just a “blog”… smile! Such encouragement for many! Surely Goodness and Mercy will follow us all the days of our lives! Thank you Lori! As I read your blogs, I always see your sweet face with ever present happy dimples and a splash of a giggle now and then! Precious pictures in my minds eye of “Joy”! Thanks for Blessing and ever encouraging!
