Dozens Killed In Beijing Flooding

The heaviest rain to hit Beijing in 60 years has reporters and citizens questioning why better warnings were not given to residents. Reports say 37 people died in flash flooding that ravaged the city with seven more missing in the damage.

The storm struck Saturday night, shutting down airports and transportation systems. The airport was shut down through Monday and reports state most of the transportation systems are back to normal on Monday. Continue reading

Over 100 Killed In Syrian Massacre

Syrian government forces have killed over 100 in the latest massacre related to the civil war situation in the country. The attack in the central Homs province is still sketchy on information as the government has tried to quell reports of the mass killing.

The Observatory for Human Rights reports that sources have confirmed over 100 people killed but only 30 have been positively identified. Activists now say government forces have killed over 17,000 people since the start of the uprising against Syrian President Bashir Assad. Continue reading
