Tennessee Lawmakers Attempt To Stop Vanderbilt University’s Anti-Christian Activities

Vanderbilt University, who enacted policies aimed at removing Christian student groups from their campus and announced their intention to show other colleges how to remove Christians, is facing action from the Tennessee legislature who seek to preserve religious freedom.

Senator Mae Beavers and Representative Mark Pody are proposing a bill that would require Vanderbilt University either respect the religious rights of Christian students or be forced to give up all state funding and their state-supported police force. Continue reading

About 1,100 injured as meteorite hits Russia with force of atomic bomb

A meteor streaked across the sky and exploded over Russia’s Ural Mountains with the power of an atomic bomb Friday, its sonic blasts shattering countless windows and injuring about 1,100 people.

The spectacle deeply frightened many Russians, with some elderly women declaring that the world was coming to an end. Many of the injured were cut by flying glass as they flocked to windows, curious about what had produced such a blinding flash of light. Continue reading

Record-breaking Asteroid To Pass Earth

An asteroid half the size of a football field is passing by Earth Friday in the closest ever approach by an object of its size.

The asteroid, called 2012 DA14, will pass between the Earth and satellites in orbit. The closest point to the Earth is believed to be 5,000 miles closer than the satellites which make up the GPS navigational system or 1/13th the distance from the Earth to the moon. Continue reading
