Many of us get caught up in being busy for the Lord–frantically trying to accomplish certain tasks. We think we are doing the work of the Lord. Many become stressed and anxious in the middle of doing God’s work. If this is you, then it’s important to take a closer look at what you are doing and consider the possibility that just maybe God did not assign those particular tasks to you.

Most likely, these are all “good ideas” but are they God’s ideas”? When we look around we observe many Christians and Christian ministries struggling. Could it be that we are doing “good works” in our own strength? This mistake could be causing many to “burn out”, quit the ministry or give up on ever doing enough for God. Most Christians are motivated to be used of the Lord and please God but often we end up piling more on ourselves and get into unnecessary “works”. This results in man-made stress. “The voice of one crying in the wilderness. Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.” -Isaiah 40:3

According to the prophet Isaiah…prayer goes before any work of God and prepares the way. Through prayer, we release the power of God to go out in advance to make “…the crooked places straight and the rough places smooth.” Isaiah 40:4

The Apostle Paul understood the importance of our prayers. He wrote in Colossians 4:3 (Amp) encouraging other believers to join him… “Be praying for us, that God would open to us a door for the word”. We know those prayers were answered because in 1 Corinthians 16:9 (TLB), Paul wrote about “a wide open door” that opened for him to preach and teach in Ephesus. Continue reading →

“What? Who? Me? An ambassador?? You must be kidding, Sharon—Not me!” Yes, Friend, I’m talking to you! And yes, I called you an ambassador! And what’s this greeting all about? Well, it all has to do with how God views you! God has a lot to say about your identity and it is a good report!

Satan does not want you to realize how valuable and precious you are to God. The evil one tries to convince you that your life is of no importance. He wants to hinder your walk and effectiveness for God’s Kingdom. He wants to rob you of confidence in God’s love for you. Often we hear tormenting thoughts saying how we aren’t appreciated–nothing will ever change–or our life doesn’t matter. Allowing these defeatist thoughts can result in a dark cloud of depression over-taking our life. If this continues, it can cause us to sink deeper into a pit of despair. BUT GOD!! Continue reading →

My concerns today are for our society that seems to have gone astray from the principles of scripture. The subject of religion brings much thought to me concerning the future of where we are going.

My attention is on the choice between religion and relationship – “A vast difference.” This world is in the grasp of religion which is “man-made” and usually deals in legalism, criticism and judgmentalism. Religion includes bondages to a set of man-made rules. This often results in the distrust of God and man. Religion also puts a person in a fear-bondage state instead of God’s way of relationship, which is love-driven and love-motivated. Continue reading →

“Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

By faith, we choose to receive the promises of God. Our faith is the door, the access route through which the promises of God are attained. Faith is the door that opens up healing, deliverance, baptisms and anointing for ministry. God’s promises include divine health and supernatural healing.

Faith is God’s idea. We receive divine health and supernatural healing by faith. We receive financial prosperity by faith. If we are trusting in God and believe His Word then our faith can be activated to receive the desired result. If you are asking God for a spouse, children, housing or food, let your faith work for you. As you stand in faith, not wavering, then you will receive all your needs met according to God’s riches in glory. That could include your spouse, your children, your home, your food and all your earthly needs being received as a result of using your faith and being in agreement with God’s Word. When I was a little girl I slept with my sisters. There were three of us sleeping in one bed. I always liked sleeping in the middle because I felt safe. Whenever I slept on the side of my bed, my arm would dangle off the bed. I was always scared that something would grab my arm. Also, I was afraid to walk into a dark room.

I didn’t understand at the time how the big bad wolf (satan) likes to work. The devil TRIES to use fear as a scare tactic to get your focus off of God. If you have struggled with fear, then you know it is a form of torment.

Recently I was struggling and praying for a subject to write about, but my mind was blank! I couldn’t come up with a single topic. I wanted to be positively sure that what I shared would be from God because we are living in very critical times.

Well, while getting ready for work one morning I heard in my spirit, the words “THREE LITTLE PIGS”! I thought, “Oh’ my goodness, everyone will think I have absolutely lost my mind.” I asked, “God did I hear you right? I haven’t thought about the Three Little Pigs’ story for many years.”

Then it hit me–the three pigs went out to face the world on their own and build a home for themselves. Well, you know the story, two of them built with sticks and straw, but one built with bricks. Two of the pigs didn’t build on a firm foundation. However, there was one pig that was smart enough to build his house with bricks so it kept standing. Continue reading →

Put on God’s whole armor (the armor of a heavy – armed soldier which God supplies), that you may be able successfully to stand up against (all) the strategies and the deceits of the devil. For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood (contending only with physical opponents), but against the despotisms, against the powers, against (the master spirits who are) the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day (of danger), and having done all (the crisis demands), to stand (firmly in your place).” ~ Ephesians 6:10-13 (Amp)

Whether you realize it or not, you wake up every morning on a spiritual battlefield. Unused weapons are ineffective against the enemy. No wars are won without a battle plan and an arsenal. Wars are only won by fighting, and fighting involves using our weapons—not stashing them in the corner of our hearts or parading them around, but by using them. I am not talking about natural weapons here, but rather, spiritual weapons that have been made available to us as Christians. Continue reading →
