Al Qaeda Resurgence In Iraq

Rev 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

<blockquote>“Hardly a day goes by when our senses are not bludgeoned by some new outbreak of terrorism in the Middle East.  Despite our best efforts at making and keeping the peace, political, economic, and religious tensions often lead to unrest, violence, and riots.”

Over 100 people were killed in a series of terrorist attacks in Iraq on Monday as the resurgence of Al Qaeda gains momentum.

In addition, over 200 people were wounded in the attacks. It’s the deadliest day of violence since US troops left Iraq in December.

The deadliest attack occurred in the town of Taji about 12 miles north of Baghdad. Bombs planted around five houses exploded just before dawn followed by a homicide bomber who detonated his weapon when police arrived to help the wounded. The multiple attack killed 41.

While Al Qaeda did not make an immediate claim of responsibility, the terrorist group issued a threat on Sunday for more violence.

“The majority of the Sunnis in Iraq support Al Qaeda,” Al Qaeda leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi said in a statement posted on militant websites.

The morning also contained a major assault on Iraqi troops as three cars full of gunmen attacked an Army base in northeastern Iraq. Thirteen soldiers were killed and all of the gunmen escaped.

  1. We left vietnam; the news never told what happened to those we were fighting to protect… They were killed and treated like human waste… Do we think that those in iraq, , , will be any better off? it’s nobel to help people when they are oppressed, , yet when we cut and leave, their dependance on us… Tells the world, , our help is the solution, only for a season… Saddam, oil and the dollar… We fixed them all before we left… Now we see the population there facing this? it’s no surprise… In fact it will get worse. This lost generation of people are global… They have no conscience to guide them… Mentally like the ones in noah’s day… Religious, , , but denying the power of the holy spirit… No conviction of guilt… Fear is the force behind them, not faith… Where populations are exploding death becomes a normal event… How populated was the earth in noah’s day? god killed none, they drowned because of disobedience–the same applies today—the wages of sin is death–to sin is to know good and do it not… Noah was preaching, , , none heard his warnings or took heed to them… They died, noah moved on… There is not a day that goes by that death is not headline news… Somewhere… The sad thing, , , it’s growing larger and larger… Mass murder, mass suicide bombing, weather and quakes killing masses… Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy… The more the sin, the more the death…
