American Nuclear Facilities Vulnerable To Terror Attack

Matthew 24:10,11 Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

A new report says that American nuclear facilities are vulnerable to a “high-force” terrorist attack and some are still vulnerable to sabotage intended to create a nuclear meltdown.

The Nuclear Proliferation Prevention Project at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas released the report stating they want to shine a light on the security gaps left a decade after 9/11.

“It would be a tragedy if the United States had to look back after such an attack on a nuclear reactor and say that we could have and should have done more to prevent the catastrophe,” Professor Alan J. Kuperman, co-author of the report, told CNN.

The study was done at the request of the Defense Department.

“Less than two dozen miles from the White House and Capitol Hill, a nuclear reactor contains bomb-grade uranium but is not required to protect against even lesser ‘design basis threat’ of terrorism,” Kuperman said. “It would be the height of irresponsibility to fail to take action now.”

The federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission dismissed the report claiming that there was no new information provided by the investigation.
